Oh Lollapalooza, I was there! The crowd was more hyped than it looks but they put them on a weird stage at a weird time. Most of the people in the crowd were there waiting for Sabrina Carpenter who was up next. Pretty sure promoters thought Band-Maid was just a little pop group. And multiple people asked me if they were K-Pop before they started and I just smiled and laughed and said "wait". They actually debuted the extended solo part of the song the night before at a small lolla after show. I was there too and was so lucky, I was front row and about 18 inches directly in front of MISA the bass player, and she played that solo in my face.

About the instruments: Rhythm guitarist Miku is playing an A24MF-FP Flappy Pigeon guitar. MF stands for metal front. The "Flappy Pigeon" is her signature model from Zemaitis. MISA is playing a Black Cloud five string bass. She also has a signature model from the company, but isn't playing it here. Kanami has a PRS Custom 24, and she recently became the first Japanese artist to have her own PRS (Paul Reed Smith) signature model. Here are the members + nicknames for fun Miku Kobato (girl with colored hair): founder of the band, rhythm guitar, back vocalist, main lyricist, main spokesperson, occasional lead vocalist. Incredibly hardworking person with kind heart. Her nickname is Small Pigeon Saiki Atsumi (vampire goddess): main vocalist, occasional lyricist, second spokesperson (also the youngest in the band). She often gives cold-like tsundere vibe (similar vibe with vampire lol) so her nickame is usually Ice Princess Kanami Tono: lead guitar, main composer of their songs, occasional back vocalist. Her nickname is Kanamincho, -incho is a suffix which adds cute like aspect to the name and that explanation kind of sums up her vibe despite she transforms into a hurricane while playing a solo Akane Hirose: drummer, absolute beast, loves to eat, occasional back vocalist. Her nickname is usually Drumzilla or something along this line. Despite being a punk kid in her childhood gives the most composed image as a person. Her inspiration was the drummer (Nao) from Maximum The Hormone, maybe you heard about this band Misa: bassist, she (almost) always plays barefooted cuz heels hurt her legs, making her nickname Barefoot Assassin. The shyest person in the band, speaks only when asked, absolute monster on her bass. Likes to occasionally drink during their sets

Ok, here we go again. Some of this cut and paste misinformation needs to end. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but please only give correct information. Miku Kobato (guitar /vocals) is a small pigeon (that's what Kobato means). Saiki (vocals) is not and never has been "ice queen." Sai-chan (occasionally Sensei) is what she's called within the band. The cold personality that she portrayed in the band's early years was to cover for her extreme shyness. Akane (drums) is A-chan (pronounced Ah-chan) or Gorilla due to her powerful drumming and her love of bananas. Kanami (lead guitar) is Mincho or Kanamincho. MISA (bass) is Misa-chan within the band, but fans often call her the Barefoot Assassin because she usually plays barefoot and her attire was once described as an "assassin maid" by Miku in an interview.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. While they don't class themselves as a metal band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. And they are the best live band I have ever witnessed! Their sound in their official live video's - I can confirm that's what they actually sound like being in the room with them, it's not doctored, but has gone through the sound desk of course. Their sound techs are AMAZING Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

Yes, the pretty girls in the maid costumes actually play (and write) their own music. Their are no half-assed musicians in Japan, male or female. The costumes were more traditional and coordinated between the members early in their run. As time wore on, four of them started having more fun with the styles of dresses. The guitarist with the pigtails is the only one that has stuck with the traditional maid motif, since she started the band. ."Ten minutes of limp gymnastics" is an accurate translation. Use your imagination. Any adult should be able to figure it out. No, the extended solo parts are not in the studio version. They were written solely for the live performances. Yes, BAND-MAID is badass and I hope you enjoy the ride. 😁

Dude! I have subscribed with you since it looks like you can breakdown music quite well. I feel I'm in for an interesting ride with you. As everyone has said to you - "Welcome to Band Maid!" they are the hardest rocking band I know of right now. I have seen them live and believe me it is just a kick ass incredible experience. I had quit listening to modern music until I accidentally discovered this band 4 years ago now. I am in my seventies and grew up watching Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Jethero Tull, AC/DC, Guns N Roses, to name a few. Music died for me in the 90's and then came these women. Others have listed some great music of theirs for you, but I'd like to recommend the dual video performance of "Manners" and "Black Hole" they did for fans during covid in 2021. You must listen to both because the effect together is amazing. This band is capable of just about anything musically and that is what seperates them from Baby Metal for me. Baby Metal is much more of a corporate produced and directed enterprise while Band Maid is about the musicians and music. They write and perform their own. If your interest in Band Maid is strong enough, and you really want to learn about them and how and what they are about, I would suggest a 7 set of documentary videos on each band member from a French guy named Ohrenje. They are actually fairly short being around 25 to 30 minutes each. One thing you will find out is that the Maidiacs who follow these ladies are a very special group from all around the world. Band Maid is actually more popular outside Japan than in. Anyway, do enjoy your time with them. We all believe they are something very, very special.

The lyrics translation is spot on. Now.... Knowing the theme of the song, go back and rewatch the guitar bass "battle", but now watch it as an argument. The bass is the guy and the guitar is the girl. The bass starts out talking shit and complaining. The guitar yells back in anger. The bass continues aggressively, going on a rant. The guitar interrupts, mocking the bass and pushing back, the bass tries to argue back, resulting in both instruments eventually "shouting" at each other, but the guitar slowly takes over the and wins the argument, leaving the bass mumbling. Leading back to the vocals and that final, foot stomping angry "La la la la, LALALALA LA! I HATE YOU!" And no, the studio version doesn't have it

2:04 - Would recommend these BAND-MAID songs along with what's on your list: - Freedom (2020 live) - Warning! (MV) - Secret MAIKO Lips (MV) - Shambles (MV) - Rinne (MV or 2020 live) - From Now On (MV) 3:48 - Yes they play their own instruments and saying they're good is an understatement. BAND-MAID dabbles in different sub-genres of rock so there is something for everyone. 6:15 - Their maid costumes have been evolving over the years to what you see now (more subtle). It's poetic as the band's founder, Miku (pigtails with red rose) is the only one left wearing an obvious maid costume. Also, everything is dialed up to 11 as this concert (November 2023) was BAND-MAID's 10-year anniversary celebration. They're happy to perform at smaller venues like House of Blues and music festivals like Lollapalooza when touring the United States. 11:28 - Not only does the bass guitarist get screen time, BAND-MAID gives all members a chance to shine. The bass player, MISA (aka The Barefoot Assassin), alternates between slap and pick while performing. You see this up close in their 2020 live version of Domination. 14:30 - BAND-MAID's lyrics are often uplifting and inspiring but this song is an exception (basically someone wronged a friend of the lead singer, Saiki "sy-kee"). 15:25 - This first song is DICE which is definitely reaction-worthy (MV or 2020 live).

Meet the ladies: Miku Kobato "Little Pigeon" - band founder - rhythm guitar and second vocals. Main lyricist. Claims to be an 810 year old pigeon and makes pigeon noises when she speaks. Po! Very good at poker, really into horses and horse racing. Very clumsy, may fall into ditches. Has the energy of an average nuclear power station mixed with weapons grade cuteness. A comedian onstage - literally! She is the heart and soul of the band. Saiki Atsumi was "The Ice Queen" nowadays just "The Queen" - Lead vocalist and frontwoman. Was very shy in the early years and came across frosty in interviews because of that, hence the nickname - she has thawed out now though! The youngest member at 30. Into train spotting (really)! and collecting trainers (sports shoes). Very girly, is a fashion icon and ex model. Designs a lot of the bands merch. Really into Baseball and the Hanshin Tigers. Don't mess with her you will lose. But she has a heart of gold and a killer dry sense of humour. Recently started writing lyrics. Has final say on songs. Kanami Tono - "Kanamincho" but usually just "Mincho" for short. Lead guitar and an absolute genius songwriter. Total riff machine. Has two personas. Normally a tiny cute shy very polite lady who seems very innocent (the band have to explain dirty jokes to her). Until she puts on her guitar. As the band say: "then she gets quite violent" - she turns into the shredding rock star she is. Takes guitar off, back to the little girl. Likes cakes, coffee and is totally infatuated by Saiki. She adores Saiki very much, to everyone's amusement. Akane Hirose - "The Gorilla" on Drums. Seems to be the sane member of the band, but is actually the band clown. Has an enormous appetite, seen eating in a lot of MV's. Eats a lot of bananas including on stage, hence the nickname. But she is terrible at actual cooking. Usually has a big grin on her face while drumming manically, Akane was also a DJ (under the name DJ Achi) and likes dancing and goofing with MISA. She also plays trombone! MISA (all caps, no last name) "The Barefoot Assassin" on bass. An absolute bass prodigy, MISA is very shy onstage (and a total clown offstage with Akane). Nickname comes from the fact she plays barefoot and looks like an assassin. Because of shyness often drinks onstage, you can often spot a bottle of Jim Beam on her amp. She drinks it neat. Lately drinking more beer than whiskey though, good girl. Doesn't say much, but when she does it's usually totally hilarious! At a lot of concerts you will hear the fans chanting MISA! MISA! MISA! which has become a slogan.

Shade, Congratulations! You have now discovered the BEST DAMNED rock band on this planet. They have been together intact for a dozen years now and they continue to grow and impress new audiences. I have been around rock and roll for much of my 75 years on this planet. I've have seen many of the best rock and roll artists in the world live. I honestly thought rock and roll was dead because it had become corporate Pablum, but these Maids restored my faith in the music. Their embrace of rock music from all genres and incorporating those sounds and vibes into their songs is why so many of us old geezers have flocked to this band. If you go to one of their shows (I've been to two), you will see A LOT of old-time rockers in the front row grooving to their music. They are now bringing their kids and grand-kids to those shows. Another thing you will realize is that these Maids love their fans and their audience. They interact with the audience throughout their shows. These five very talented young Japanese females love rock and roll, the love their fans, and they love each other and playing with each other. We Band-Maid fans call ourselves Maidiacs. Members include Miku Kobato, founder of the group, rhythm guitarist, chief lyricist, backup vocalist. (She's the one wearing the Maid costume and the red rose on her headband. She plays Zemeitas guitars and has had her own Signature Model Guitar called the "Flappy Pigeon" named after. Kanami Tono, lead guitarist extraordinaire, composer (I call her the Wonderful Little Genius). She plays the PRS guitar and recently had her Signature Model PRS Kanami guitar presented to her by Paul Reed Smith. She is the only female and Japanese person to receive such an honor. MISA (no last name) is the bassist. she wears the black ninja pajamas and is called the "barefoot assassin" she's plays barefoot at all their concerts unless it's too hot on the stage. MISA plays the Black Cloud bass guitar and has her own Signature Model called Black Smoke which she uses. There are few rock and roll bands where all three guitarists have their own Signature models. Akane Hirosi, the drummer, is considered by many as one of the best rock drummers anywhere. She has even been recognized by Jimmy Page for her drummer talent. She is sponsored by TAMA drums and is s spokesperson for the company. Saiki Atsumi, the singer, is one of the most charismatic, dynamic, and talented lead vocalists in the business. She and Miku both have an amazing vocal range and are versatility in their individual parts and their harmonization If you really want to know the background of Band-Maid there is a seven-part documentary series about them from Ohrenje, a French VLOGer and Band-Maid fan. Don't worry the dialog is in English. The series gives a biography on each member (Miku, the founder of the band gets a three-part biography). It is well worth watching. I will call the formation of the amazing band serendipitous, and we are all better off for it. I'll let other Maidiacs suggest their favorite Band-Maid songs to you. You will find that ALL of them are good.

As for B-M lore the Maidiacs will do that with glee and after a few songs, there's a 7 part documentary series done by a fan about the members and band which is excellent that will fill in all the lore blanks that remain. Edit: honestly, at this point, growling vocals aside, the main difference between hard rock and metal these days seems to mainly be in how the guitars are tuned. Double bass etc is not all that uncommon in hard rock now for instance.

I thought my rock band fandom had come to an end when Rush broke up, then I luckily was directed to Band Maid by other Rush fans. I’m now utterly obsessed and I can’t get enough of these ladies. If you want a drum solo, try ‘Freedom’ official live video. Akane, the drummer, is much admired by Jimmy Page.

Welcome to the world of Band-Maid. They have been together since 2013 and have around 140 songs in their discography. If you want to go back a ways try these, "Real Existence" live, "Choose Me" live, "Play" live. For MVs try "Dice," "Alone," or "Rinne." Enjoy the ride.

Band-Maid, a real hidden gem of talent. I've been listening to hard rock/metal since the early 70's & this group is by far the one that has kept my head banging for the last few years. They mix many genres with their flavor of talent. You can't go wrong with any of their 10+year catalog. For a more Heavy sound I would suggest 'Moratorium' or 'Rinne'.

Welcome to Maidiacs, Our maids calls their music impossible hard rock but their music touch on heavy metal, jass, rap, and more. Bandmaid is one of the best live rock band right now and running strong 11 years. Be prepared to fall into the pigon hole, it will be a wild and exciting ride.

Welcome, Shade. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 220 million YT views, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid: BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (144 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 80 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5XWaJppgpJnorM Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, You, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, The One, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX2lkHiGiJlrfqc) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. kzbin.info Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts: 2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJKUqmCIh7uXbZI ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHLHiKF_h896l80 Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5PcgnaAo5ulj8k ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6K0n35_gbdoq5I Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 33 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 33 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 34 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 32 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. With Japanese rock and metal bands, the best think you can do is to not expect A to sound like B and for both not to sound like C. There's a lot of diversity and nuance in Japan's rock/metal scene (and I'll throw in South Korea's great rock band Rolling Quartz as well).

BANDMAID is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century IMHO. It's a crazy statement. Was Mozart the world's greatest composer of his era? He'll yeah! The farther we get away from that time the more clearly we see the immensity of his talent. Few would argue with the above assessment. Everytime I write "IMHO" after BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century I feel like a liar. IMHO my ass! IMHO water is wet. BandMaid rules right now. 66 years old here. The future will prove us right. Excellent review. Focus on both music and lyrics! New sub here!

The Lollapalooza performance was only the second time they'd performed that particular arrangement of "Hate?". They premiered it the night before at the after party of day one. The festival actually streamed their set and they had multiple cameras. The director unfortunately was completely unfamiliar with the band and had no clue who to focus on when. The official live was from the final performance of their 10th anniversary performance at Yokohama Arena. The whole show is available on DVD/BD if you want to dig into the entire 33 song performance.

Happy New Year! Welcome to the world of Band-Maid. On your list, I would recommend Domination official live as the next song. That or Freedom official live which is not on your list. You will like both as they both have drum solos, Freedom has a longer one. Regarding their sound, I classify them as hard rock rather than heavy metal. I saw them in a small venue called Club Quattro in Hiroshima. It was amazing! I'm looking forward to seeing them again on May 17th this year. Enjoy the ride!

Kanami (lead guitarist) composes majority of the music, and Miku writes most of the lyrics to their music. Though they all participate in the process of most of the songs. One unique thing about Band Maid is Miku's Omajinai Time. A little intermission type show she does between sets where she does some audience participation work, that is really worth looking at sometime.

Also you'll love Babymetal's Rondo of Nightmare (with Mischief of Metal Gods intro, recorded at the Budokan). Re: maid uniforms: they all originally wore "standard" Maid Café uniforms, but started modifying them and are now wearing things more loosely inspired by uniforms. Saiki (singer) almost immediately tore off the apron on hers (they recruited her without telling her about the uniforms, because they were worried she wouldn't join if she knew...).

From Japan BAND-MAID is a five-member girl rock band. This year marks their 12th anniversary. The members have not changed. They are a hard rock band and are considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually have 23 songs and 2 hours of live performances. They were formed in Japan in 2013 by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Miku had experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara, Tokyo, and came up with the idea of playing cool music in maid outfits. That's why the band was named BAND-MAID. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, and six months later, it suddenly achieved 2 million views in two weeks, avoiding disbandment and deciding to become a hard rock band. They have also performed overseas and are gaining more fans. Currently, they write, compose, and arrange all of their songs themselves. They have 140 original songs. They have 60 songs published on their official You Tube, and all of them are killer songs. Official videos are often not blocked. ■ Hard Rock : the non-fiction days ・Rinne・ DICE ・Thrill ・Unleash!!!!・ Sense・ Warning! ・After life ・Protect You ■ Cool Rock : Alone ・Influencer ・Bubble ・Manners ・YOLO ・Different・ Blooming ・Forbidden tale ■ Great Live : DOMINATION ・PLAY ・FREEDOM ・REAL EXISTENC ・CROSS ・CHOOSE ME ・Puzzle ・Hate? ■ Ballad : Wonderland ・Endless story ・Daydreaming ・About us ・Memorable ・Bestie ■ Acoustic : "Catharsis" Acoustic Ver. ・Sayonakidori" Acoustic Ver. ■ Instrumental : from now on ・On set ■ Japanese Style : Secret Maiko Lips・ Gioncho (April Fool's Day Gift BAND MAIKO Version) ■ Collaboration: Bestie Michael Einziger from INCUBUS ・SHOW THEM (with Warning ) ■ All English lyrics: Dragon Cry ・Don't Let Me Down ・Bestie ・SHOW THEM ■ Anime Songs: glory ・Different ・Sense ・Shambles ・Protect You ■ Side Project : Cluppo : Peace and Love ・ with You ( Miku’s side project )

Welcome Home, Shade!!!🕊️ Congratulations on improving your life today! Finding the Maids can be a life-changing experience of pure JOY! 🤩 The Maids are a remarkable collection of extraordinarily talented musicians who excel at every aspect of modern Rock music creation: Composition, Arrangement, Songwriting, Orchestration, Instrumentation, Recording, Production, Playing and Performance. If you stick with the journey, you’ll see it’s true. BAND-MAID pulls in fans of all ages from all rock genres - pop-punk, emo, modern rock, classic rock, grunge, heavy metal; because the Maids are so talented and versatile with songs using elements of every rock style and genre imaginable! Many of their biggest fans are folks, of all ages, who also love the timeless artists like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, RUSH, YES, The Who, Santana, Toto, Steely Dan, Metallica, Dimash Quidebergen, etc….as we find many of the high-level musical qualities in the Maid’s music as well. We like to say the Maids are their own genre. They are in fact on the (back) cover of the Japanese Rolling Stone magazine this month. They have a goal of (peaceful) World Domination through music; and are on their way. They’ve toured Europe and North America before; they’ve stayed in Japan for 2024, but expect them to make a tour stop near you in 2025! As for more songs; 😂. It’s a bit of a joke with us Masters & Princesses (or Maidiacs, if you prefer), because, literally, the Maids are probably the single most PROLIFIC band at writing great song after great song - EVER. No kidding. They have 130+ songs across the rock music genre spectrum - we say they are their own genre. 🤷🏻♂️ Seriously, I’m not kidding - you’ll easily get 50-75 different song suggestions from 10 different people. And there’s a saying in the community; “Your favorite Band-Maid song is the next one you listen to.” 🤷🏻♂️ My contributions for the next song on your journey down the Band-Maid “Pigeon Hole” (😂) cover a diverse set of songs. First, you must see these recent live releases starting with - “Hate?” - OLV - true guitar/bass EPIC-NESS! 🔥 Then - Magie” - OLV - from new album - “Don’t You Tell Me” - OLV - “Unleash!!!!!” - OLV And finally the Show closer (tears 😭) - “Endless Story” - OLV Then dozens & dozens more… They just released a new album “Epic Narratives” that’s absolutely glorious! Their most recent release from it is a real Thrill Ride (pun intended), with lots of different motifs in the song (Jazz-Maid?) You should check it out soon: - “Forbidden Tale” - OMV High energy Anime songs from new Epic Narratives album? - “Shambles” - OMV - “Protect You” - OMV More Classic Rock style - “Manners” - OMV - Then, “Manners / Black Hole” - official online live video - HOW, just HOW?!! - “Dice” - OMV - “Turn Me On” - OLV - “Moratorium” - OLV - Puzzle - OLV Did you say instrumentals? - “From Now On” - OMV - “Onset” - OLV - “Without Holding Back” - MV Modern/Progressive? - “Influencer” - OMV - “Why, Why, Why” - OLV - “Youth” - OLV - “Bubble” - OMV - “Corallium” - OLV Tender & Beautiful? - “Wonderland” - official live video - “Daydreaming” - OMV - “Memorable” - OMV - “About Us” - OLV - “Bestie” - OMV (all English) from new album! Acoustic? Oh, yes!! - “Catharsis” - OLV - (Christmas show) - “Sayonakidori” - OLV (MIKU Song!!) - “Puzzle” (acoustic special) - OLV And where it all began: - “Thrill” - OMV - the video that saved them. Then dozens and dozens more from our special Maids. In fact, lead guitarist Kanami Tono just became the first Japanese artist with a PRS Limited Edition model, personally handed to her by Paul Reed Smth at a ceremony in Tokyo a few weeks ago. As for the Mexican Villarreal sisters, The Warning, check out - “Automatic Sun” - OMV Band-Maid and The Warning are friends and collaborators!!! - “Show Them” - OMV They recently released their collaboration on “Show Them” was a special moment for both bands!! The Warning have released a Behind-the -Scenes which is fantastic! You see a bit of the worked together despite the language difficulties. - The Warning First Trip to Japan with BAND-MAID. In your first video this was song 27 of 33, song 25, "Black Hole," had a 3 minute drum solo as an intro but that is not released to YT, only on the live stream and then on DVD/Blu-ray. The guitar-bass back and forth was only done for live shows during this time period. The Yokohama Arena was the last time they did it. The Lollapalooza show was at the start of doing this version. They had done it for the first time the night before at an "aftershow" performance. This one was the first that was pro shot for a stream, by Hulu I think not Band-Maid, and the director wasn't sure where to focus the camera's attention. Band-Maid does have multiple cameras when they shoot a show themselves. Yokohama was live streamed and then released on disc. The disc has some different shots than the stream did due to decisions made in the edit.

Others have addressed the topic of their Battle Armor (stage outfits) a bit already. Miku (founder) didn't tell Saiki (lead vocals) that she had to wear a maid outfit until it was too late for her to back out. Saiki almost immediately removed the apron from the costume. They have said that they really feel more comfortable in their Battle Armor now and while it keeps evolving, it is part of their signature look. It generally changes about once a year, but there is no hard and fast rule about that. The first video you watched was their most recent look while Lalapalooza was one or two looks earlier. They have had one-off costume sets on rare occasions (their acoustic shows for example). A couple of suggestions for after you've done a number of Band Maid videos would be either the acoustic version of Sayonakidori (by a subset of the band featuring Miku on vocals) or Secret Maiko Lips (performed by their alter egos, Band Maiko). Great reaction, looking forward to more!

These girls are totally crazy. Wonderful musicians and personas. They have so much to listen to. And it is very different. They have fantastic instrumental tracks. They have groovy stuff, hard stuff and prog stuff. One thing is common for most of their music. All members add something important. No one is really backing musician or singer. Not entirely at least. As personas they are goofy and vary serious at the same time. They live for this. And they really love each other and the audience. There is so much to recommend and you will get all kind of recommendations. I will only give you three (although I could easily write down 20) * HONKAI - Live - its a new song and it is total madness. So fun. And so unexpected. Why not put the bass and the drummer as lead? * From now on - MV - one of their fantastic instrumental tracks. * Manners and Black Hole - Covid Studio Live - two songs - one super groovy bass driven and one complex and prog and fast where every band member is lead.

The official footage and the LaLaPalooza footage were taken during the 10th anniversary tour, so the arrangement is the same. The bass and guitar exchanges are not included in the studio recording because they are special for the live performance. BAND-MAID often extends intros and interludes during the tour, creating special performances for people who attend the concerts.

A pigeon in a maid uniform said I rock this uniform I wonder if I can rock in this uniform. She met a princess. The princess said I know a gorilla. The gorilla said meet my friend the barefoot assassin. The pigeon thought there is something missing. Enter the Queen. When you check out Show Them make sure you have time to go down the rabbit hole of The Warning. They have a large fan base and catalog.
