Knowing MISA's name is the only way to keep the Barefoot Assassin at bay! Keep attention to her or else! Seriously, a lot of their greatness comes with having a bassist that does just follow the drums, thrumming one or two notes the whole time. She's doing a lot more than most bass players.

Hello Nooby, thank you for your enthusiastic and lively reaction. The live versions of the Band Maid songs are really special and among the many things I love about Band Maid it is the joy of music and the joie de vivre (vitality, life force? I’m German, so I don’t know what would be the best word for what I want to say) that are expressed. But I can't help but notice that you pay special attention to the vocals and therefore I would like to recommend the Dutch singer Floor Janssen to you. She is first and foremost known as the singer of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, but she has also performed with several other bands and has published several cover versions on her own KZbin channel, including "Alone" by Heart, "Let it go" from the movie Frozen, or "Adagio" by Lara Fabien. Especially well known is the live version of the song "Ghost Love Score" by Nightwish "live at Wacken open-Air 2013". Its about 10 minutes long, and don't be afraid of the word Symphonic Metal, I can say with 99,9 percent certainty that you will like this song. (it seems to me that a lot of the people who like Band Maid also enjoy listening to Nightwish also their music is clearly different.) You don't have to make a reaction video of it, but if you like good vocals, just listen to it.

Band-Maid write songs for playing them live. The studio versions are polished with the live energy in BIG consideration. Songs like Warning and Manners.... from their studio releases, you know it will sound great live. As we Aussies say, Band-Maid "Are a live band". BUT, do not let that deter you from their Studio work either, which is equally as good. The only song I find which is waaay better live is "Freedom". (On their KZbin site with a cool drum solo). As for Saiki... check out "Daydreaming", "Wonderland"-Live, "Bubble" and "Blooming". In fact, any Band-Maid song.... but these are my recommendations. Cool reaction!!

Lead guitarist, composer is Kanami, doing the solos. Puzzle is a great song live. Miku is rythum guitarist/vocal. They love performing live. Kanami has said she is saddened by not being able to perform live, they all miss it. Yes Saikei voice I love. Mayu in Nemophila, I love her sassy voice. And Rolling Quartz vocalist.

I'm pretty sure that one part is just dotted eighths and sixteenths, although it sounds very close to a 3-against-4 polyrhythm. There IS a live song where Misa plays quarter-note triplets on the bridge against 4/4 and a lot of people thought she messed up because Miku's the only one playing a rhythmically straightforward part at that point and her guitar is somewhat buried in the mix (so it's probably from the 2020 Line Cube Shibuya concert DVD).

I'm glad we went to CDs and Digital because when I bought Deep Purple, Zeppelin, Grand Funk, Stones, Cream, Bad Company, and others' albums back in the day I wore them out and had to buy them again. Even back in those days I would have gone through Band Maid music in weeks. Almost a year now and all their music sounds fresh although I have heard their songs many, many times I get more out of it every time I hear them--as here. Great Reaction and Enjoy!!

Miku's vocals weren't exactly 'mixed down' in Warning and Manners...she was filling a different role with her vocals in those two songs (and boy, were they ever different in Manners!). Most of her vocals are like you hear here.

If you want more Saiki and Miku harmonies you can listen to their live version of Wonderland. Also, you might like their newest released song "About Us" there is no MV for it but its released from music streaming platforms like Spotify. "About Us" is much more pop so you might like it more if Pop is your main genre and Saiki's singing in that song is one of her best in my opinion.

I know I'm late finding this (only found BAND-MAID myself a couple of months ago), but to answer your question, I don't think that kick pattern after the breakdown was a polyrhythm. I think it was just a triplet. They tend to stick to 4/4 most of the time, but they do a lot of interesting subdivisions that make it sound like they're changing time signatures when they really aren't.
@boomboom4183 жыл бұрын
The ladies have been doing virtual concerts during the pandemic. But you have to buy a ticket which will run you $30 to $35 dollars and you have to stream it live but once you buy the ticket you can watch the concert all week. There's a better explanation on their website Bandmaid dot Tokyo.

If you watch Freedom from the same concert you get a little more Miku singing. Miku has a really nice voice and original was going to be lead vocals, but couldn't carry the sound they wanted for the group, so they found Saiki. Miku does get some time to shine and even sings lead on a few tracks, but there isn't any official videos of it, you can find a live version of Rock in Me from their live DVD from a few years ago if it hasn't been removed from KZbin and the rest are iffy at best phone recorded by fans, so quality usually isn't great. I know there is another song, but can't remember the name of it at the moment she sings. Miku also does a "half time" show during their concerts where the other band members rest while she entertains the crowd with her Magic Time which is fun and adorable to watch.
@ronniebrucehalford83962 жыл бұрын
Most reactors focus on the musicians. I appreciate how you highlight the vocal performances. You mention wanting to hear the live versions of Warning and Manners.They're both up. I'd go for Manners as you can really hear what Miku brings to the song much much better. Plus it's paired with the live version Black Hole, which is Band-Maid's most chaotic song (and one of my most favorites).

Silent Siren fan here. Sumire's high-pitched, nasally vocal style is very different from Saiki, who sings more from the chest and back of the throat. Suu's voice can take some getting used to. Doing a Sai-Sai reaction is risky because their label, Universal Music Japan, will usually hand you a strike. You just don't see Silent Siren reactions on YT, even though they are very worthy.

South Koreai s an amazing country, of great culture and technology, but K-Pop is the closest thing you can get to anti- music.
