Anyone who likes the Bee Gees is a rockstar in my book, check out some of the earlier stuff, totally different sound, run to me as a particular favorite, I started a joke features Robin, the long-haired one. Mid career album Main course is what I would consider the transitional album and tomorrow disco dance music of Saturday night fever, my favorite song on there is Fanny be tender with my love. Looking for someone different? Try the raspberries, let’s pretend , or go all the way....

Some Bee Gees stats; Brothers Barry, Maurice & Robin Gibb began in 1955 as The Rattlesnakes, (Barry age 9, the twins almost 6). 1958, were renamed BG’s/Bee Gee’s. 1st international hit was in 1967, Massachusetts, which hit #1 in 13 countries (#11 in the US). In the US alone, starting in 1967, they had 30 top 40 hits (23 in top 10, 9 #1s & 6 were consecutive #1s). Worldwide, over 120 million records sold. 22 studio albums. 83 singles. 2 live albums. 15 compilations. 4 Soundtracks, including Saturday Night Fever, the 2nd largest selling soundtrack of all time (in Library of Congress, as Culturally Significant). 3 Grammys, plus Grammy Legend & Lifetime Achievement Awards. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Songwriters Hall of Fame (1031 songs by Barry, Robin & Maurice, together, alone or with others). Wrote hits for Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Barbra Steisand, Frankie Valli, Samantha Sang, Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers & more (many also produced by Barry). Barry is the only songwriter in history to have written 4 consecutive #1 songs on US charts. Starting with Bee Gee's Stayin Alive, hit #1 Feb. 4 & held for 4 weeks. March 4, was bumped by brother Andy Gibb’s (Love is) Thicker Than Water, #1 for 2 weeks. That was bumped by Bee Gee's Night Fever, #1 for 8 weeks, followed by Yvonne Elliman's If I Can't Have You, #1 week of May 13. Since Barry co-wrote all 4, from Feb. 4, till mid-May 1978, with no gap, a song (co) written by Barry Gibb held the #1 spot. Few will ever come close to their career.

Karltin, I ADORE that smile you get when you hear them sing. You said you mess with them? Honey, we all do! I really loved your observation that music videos are completely different today. You mentioned "twirking" & that the older videos featured the artists. YES!! You're really learning fast my friend. The word for the Bee Gees is "HARMONY"! "How Deep Is Your Love" really isn't about super high flashy falsetto high notes its about 3 people singing together in perfect harmony. Bee Gees are the pros at it. Okay, you've seen this side of them... Remember how they walked off together at the end? NOW I want you to see them walk IN together the same way in unison with one of the most iconic beats & songs in history. "STAYING ALIVE!" Time to disco, baby! Hold onto your seat! - Staying Alive (iconic) - Night Fever (total vibe) - You Should Be Dancing - Jive Talkin When you're ready to do a slower one again... my absolute FAVORITE Bee Gees song is "How Do You Mend A Broken Heart". Barry's voice is perfection. Great job! I lived this reaction! ❤✌🎵

Lots of recomments down below ask for 'disco' songs, most sung in falsetto. But I'll tellya, that kinda voice, which is stunning, is only used in maybe fife % of their work. So maybe check out songs like 'Lonely Days' or 'One' and 'You Win Again', also big hits of them.

They fell into natural three part harmony when Barry was nine and the twins were six so they've been at it for a long time, their first tv appearance was in 1960 when I think Barry was 13 or 14 and he had actually wrote the song they sang they sang, if you pay attention to the lyrics of their songs it is usually pretty poetic and they do their lyrics to fit the melody of the song, they start with a chorus then do all of the instruments then after that they write the lyrics and the lyrics have to fit the melody and the chorus they will not change anything to fit a lyric in there, I guess that's why they are in the songwriters hall of fame and I'm not

In the 70s we didn't care about white or black, we just wanted to party and listen to great music and dance! It's all about the music not the sex. Stop buying into their crap.

Love your reactions! Would you consider listening to Lover You Should Have Come Over by Jeff Buckley? He’s a legend that died much too young. This is probably the most beautiful song I ever heard. Although it’s much different than what you’ve been reacting to so far, I think you would enjoy it kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqnJdmmGf9J6iZo
