@@shaundgb7367 Heart of Glass came out in 1978.I was about 7 years old, I remember up till about 1981 and 1982 you would still hear songs trying to sound disco like and even on tv shows you could still hear some disco.

Heart of Glass was from the 1978 album Parallel Lines, but the song was written in 1974 as a slow, reggae number. It was turned into a Euro-disco song in the style of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" by producer Mike Chapman four years later, when he was re-arranging the tune.

FYI, the mirrored disco balls were around way before disco..they were invented before the 1920s but were really popular during the 1920s at big parties and clubs. They weren't seen much after that until disco music & dancing was popular in the 1970s.

The final chorus (3) on this song originally said "Soon turned out, it was a pain in the ass" but for some silly reason all we get to hear now is the edited version that's says "Soong turned out had a heart of glass". I owned the original single version with this on so i remember it..... great reaction guys thanks...they were a great band back then.

Don't know if you realized, but you read the song facts for "Call Me", which came after "Heart of Glass". This was Blondie's breakthrough song. "Call Me" was the theme to the movie American Gigolo

Although a lot of people assumed the video was filmed at Studio 54, Chris Stein says the video wasn't filmed there. People just assumed it was because of a shot of Studio 54 in the video.

Funny that you noted this was a disco song. Debra Harry (Blondie) and her band actually composed this song about five years prior to its official release and simply called it “The Disco Song” while it was untitled in 1975. They recorded two demos of the song in the 1970’s before the final version was released. I believe both of those demos are available on KZbin. Each one has a very different arrangement. You should check them out.
