Blondie is an American rock & new wave band co-founded by singer Debbie Harry & guitarist Chris Stein. They had a lot of great hits in the 70's-90's such as "Call Me", "Atomic", "The Tide Is High", “Rapture”, "Picture This", "Hanging On The Telephone", "I'm Gonna Love You Too", "One Way Or Another", "Sunday Girl", "Island Of Lost Souls", "War Child", "Maria" etc.

Blondie are from New York - they broke through in Australia first, then they came to Britain in 1977 and had loads of hits beginning with "Denis" - Britain still loves Blondie ! I saw them in London at the Roundhouse in 1978 - Debbie who looked stunning - was singing to a largely male audience - she did that thing where she touched hands from the stage with some of the guys at the front - she almost got pulled off the stage ! I guess she got the guys a little too excited ! Happy Days.

This always reminds me of 1979 when I was working in the Catskill mountains in New York. On the jukebox, they had all of Blondie, and many other groups. React to One Way or Another. That's what I wore out on the jukebox.

Cool memories! In 79 we had a radio station that played everything. Might get Waylon Jennings followed by Blondie followed by Supertramp followed by Hank Williams Sr. Didn't matter what genre as long as it was good.

Blonde was a 70s punk band that turned into one of the first alternate bands in the 80s. Deborah Harry the singer was very popular and a sex symbol who did a shoot in Playboy Magazine. A couple of their songs have been sampled. A couple of their other big hits that has been sampled and has been in movies and commercials are: Call Me and One way or another.
