You get an A+. You just witnessed the subunit known as The Vocal Line. Yes, Jung Kook, Jin, Jimin and V. For some songs, only the vocal line performs. Other songs, only the Rap Line (RM, Suga and J-Hope) perform. Then there is a Dance Line known as 3J (J-Hope, Jimin and Jung Kook). V is now in the Dance Line too but 3J still sometimes performs together. Then other times you get unusual subunits. Example, J-Hope, Jin and Jung Kook performed a song called Jamais Vu together. It's one of my favorites. There have been numerous pairings or trios with the various members over the years. So, although they are a group of 7, they keep things fresh by changing things up. Also, in live concerts, that allows some of them to have a breather while others perform, as their concerts are 2-3 hours long. That On:E concert that Zero O'Clock was part of was during pandemic; you didn't see any audience with this song you just watched for that reason.

Yeah !!!!! You recognized them perfectly : Jungkook - Jin - Jimin - V = the vocal line. That was a pure vocal-line song. The rap-line is RM - Suga - J-jope. There are a few songs that I absolutely adore by the vocal line. Zero o'clock, and A TRUTH UNTOLD and HOUSE OF CARDS is another. They are often very emotional songs as all the vocal line excel at telling a story with emotion.

You will often see what we call "sub-unit songs" where 2 or more members sing a song together, rather than all seven. They often divide by "vocal line" and "rap line" as sub-units (which is what they did for this song - vocal line only..."The Truth Untold" or "House of Cards" are two other vocal liine only songs...also the live performance of "Butterfly" at the Yet to Come in Busan concert in October 2022 was vocal line only (although that song was originally a song with all seven members, so there are older live performances with all seven, too). They do all sorts of variations on the "sub-unit" concept. On the Map of the Soul: 7 album, for instance, there are songs with V/Jimin ("Friends"), RM/SUGA ("Respect"), Jin, j-hope and Jung Kook ("Jamais Vu"), as well as rapline song ("Ugh!," which you didn't like) and this song "00:00 (Zero O'Clock)." They also all have had solo songs on several albums, for many years. It's one of the things that BTS does that I really appreciate - not only do they change it up with music genres, they also change it up with these varying combinations of members from song to song. It really keeps things fresh and interesting. Since the pandemic, really, they have mostly focused on full group songs in concerts and performances (except for "Ugh!"/"Cypher Pt. 3: Killer" and "Butterfuly/Zero O-Clock" for the Busan concert. I think they did that (mainly for the Permission to Dance concerts) because they were highly aware that Jin was leaving for the military and that would officially signify the start of their "solo careers" - a.k.a. Chapter 2 - so they wanted to mostly do group things when in front of ARMY.

It was Jimin, who not only encourage RM to continue writing the song, but it’s become one of Jimin’s fav songs! RM, himself in a vlog, discussing the making of MOTS: 7, the equally amazing album the song is on, praised & acknowledged how it was Jimin that loved the song Zero O'Clock so much, and encouraged RM to continue & complete it. RM not only writes about 85% of all the BTS lyrics, but even songs mainly credited for other members, they always go to him for advice, also to help with English translation (since he's the only one who has a full concept of eng) plus also to help with phrasing. 👍❤️‍🔥😍🔥

I absolutely love the vocal line. At concerts, there is usually a number or two from the vocal line, and the same for the rap line. Something's not quite right in this recording, there's a better one called zero o clock stage mix. The rap line is RM, Suga, and J-Hope. Other social line songs are The Truth Untold, House of Cards (in Japan), and a few more. Good on the names! You can take up all of my day you want - I'm retired!

BTS don't do everything all together be on stage for a concerts they also break down into their Sub unit's eg the 4 vocalist and the 3 Rappers. That also gives them space to breath, change clothes, drink water, etc. within their albums you find the same thing happening along with main group songs they'll be the vocalists only song and/or a Rappers's together only song. Plus you'll find solo Songs and solo Raps. So this is quite normal it gives every member a time to shine as individual soloist and it give the 4 vocalist's time to shine as vocal only group. The same goes for the Rappers. Their concert and 2-3hours in length so they have to pace themselves between just sing/rapping and sing, rapping and dancing. I hope that helps.

Common ones are the rap line and the vocal line, but they also do ones with just 2 members, like RM and V in 4 O'Clock, RM and Suga in Respect etc. The meaning nehind this song is that no matter what has happened in the day, at midnight (00:00) the worl'd takes a breath and a new day begins. This new day you can try afresh to work on the problem of the day before, and this time it will be better and you can be happy. I think 00:00 (Zero o'clock) lyrics meant the ending of yesterday and starting of a new day which hopefully we would feel happier and forget about our sadness and the speed bumps(obstacles) we had encountered yesterday. During BTS's concerts, they have Group songs, unit songs, solo songs, vocal line songs, and rap line songs. This was definitely a vocal line song. And it was held during the pandemic, streamed online, with no audience. JIMIN seemed very emotional in this song. I love the song, it's beautiful, and inspirational. The Rap Line song in this concert was UGH!, and they have unit songs, and every member got a solo song. Their Map of the Soul: 7 album was 19 songs. the solo songs were Intro: Persona (RM), Interlude: Shadow (SUGA), Outro: EGO (J-Hope), My Time (Jungkook), Filter (JIMIN), MOON (JIN), and Inner Child (V). Unit songs were Friends (JIMIN and V), Respect (RM and SUGA), and Jamais Vu (J-Hope, Jungkook, and JIN) Then they had numerous Group songs.

Yes, you were correct on the names! This one of what they call “vocal line songs” (songs by only the vocalists). There are several, mostly ballads and all beautiful. They also have several songs with just the 3 rappers, like Ugh! & Outro: Tear and other trios, duos and solos as part of BTS albums. An interesting tidbit: the lyrics Jimin sings about “forgetting familiar lyrics” is something that actually happened to RM at an early audition with another agency. He probably felt pretty awful that entire day. However, that opened a door for him to get THE audition that got him into BigHit and led to BTS. I absolutely love this song. It’s my favorite vocal line song, followed closely by The Truth Untold.

I've also noticed when a member does a solo song they use the backup dancers, not BTS members for the dance. I assume it's to give other members a break during a concert. Their concerts are amazing shows. Sometimes the 3 rappers may do a number without the singers. I think they have learned to pace themselves now with their concerts. There's been times they went too hard and was passing out behind stage. They have it well planned out now i think
