Thank you for this reaction! This is one of my favorite BTS songs flexing against all of the people who said they wouldn’t make it… when you watch their videos (except the last 3 which are in English) you should watch them twice. Once for the video and another time for the subtitles. I’m always sort of baffled when I see people assume they wouldn’t like a song because it’s in another language. Maybe they just don’t truly appreciate _music_ or realize that music doesn’t even need to have any words at all. The instrumentals (and/or vocals-which I consider to be a type of instrument anyway) are what makes music music. Otherwise, it’s just poetry or speech. If it’s the specific words that are most meaningful to someone, it’s so easy nowadays to look up translations.

I highly recommend you to watch the Disonissos stage. MMA 2019 BTS Intro: Persona + Boy In Luv + Boy With Luv + Mikrokosmos + Dionysus If you see Dynamite Dance Break on the 2020 MMA stage, I think you will really like it. Be sure to watch the 2018.2019 MMA BTS performance stage as well. BTS' performances at the Jimmy Fallon Show and the James Gordon Show from 2018 to 2021 are also the best.

The rap songs are all about lyrics and when you factor in cultural references you miss so much without explainations. So english speaking Koreans can fill you in eg in DKDKTV UGH he can explain words that refers to language of gang culture and its significance. Or DKDKTV DAECHWITA can explain all the references to historical figures that would give Koreans a wider perspective on the lyrics. As fans we love to see reactors finally get the genius of BTS. DDAENG is used in 7 different ways in Genius word play.

Enjoyed the reaction. Their biggest hits aren't their best songs. Hope you check out their B sides. Their versatility is fire. They use whatever genre they want to speak whatever message they want to say. They go Uber Pop but equally as Uber raw and vulnerable. They started as HipHop but added vocals and choreo of the kpop world at a time when that wasn't done. As a result they were shunned by both the HipHop world (who considered them sellouts and falsely assumed they wouldn't be create their own content) and KPOP (who considered them too free and non-conformists to their strict Idol standands). As a result they said screw it, we're gonna do what we want to do. And they did well. Now Kpop try to emulate them so you'll hear similar things now, but BTS has been doing their thing for 11 years now.
