Fun fact: Jin trended as "pink mic guy" among non-ARMYs after this performance because of his voice in the Fix You cover; people wanted to know his name. They all absolutely nailed it and I loved the singing from the rap line and Tae's ending but that long note of Jin's at the height of the song is just pure *chef's kiss* (Coldplay congratulated them on a job well done *in Korean* on Twitter)

Thank you for this reaction, Luke! I love this song, especially because they performed these songs to cheer their fans up and give them comfort during the pandemic. I can't believe it took you this long to react to these songs. Anyway, these performances are worthy of all the superlatives you can think of. Fix you is of special significance for me because this song sealed the deal for me with BTS. I always say that Jin and V led me to the rabbit hole with "It's Definitely You" and then they and the rest of the gang pushed me in with "Fix You". Suchwita ep 12 with Jin? OH YES PLEASE!!!

If I remember correctly suga wrote it during covid. He said it was about the time between bts and army. And how they miss each other. He said it just came to him. And the cover for fix you oh my God it's my fav cover they have done. I listen to it alot. Their vocals are amazing and when the vocal line harmonizes with a member of the low rap line AMAZING. love Jin breakout vocals and Jimins angelic voice on him and love Vs upper and his low at the end. Pure perfection.

Telepathy is such a feel good song. SUGA wrote it in double quick time. He’s such a versatile composer. Then their cover of, Fix You, is just a different level. As you say all the vocals stood out but I think this is the song that made people realise just how good Jin is. The harmonies throughout are just amazing. Fix You is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands (watching them live this January, in fact, yay!). And, I will not say that BTS did it better but, I will say that they covered this song respecting the original while bringing into it so much of their own stamp, individuality and, beautifully unique sound. It was just pure genius and a truly masterful performance from each and every one of them.

Doing the octaves with the rap line for Fix You was a beautiful choice. It gives so much more texture than if just the vocal line was singing. Don't get me wrong, the vocal line is superb in this, but the addition of the octaves was perfect to fill out the song.

This is a song that he wrote for all of his Spanish speaking Dears and he sings it in Spanish. Dimash had promised he would write a song for them and I know you will just LOVE this performance. There are many BTS covers (especially from Jungkook), but my all time favorite is Fix You. Perfect Man comes really close but the coals and harmonies on the Fix You Cover is hauntingly beautiful. I adore it so much. Also Luke I’m surprised you haven’t done a BTS quiz yet! There are so many. Guess that song, guess the choreography, guess the member by their voice, gues the member, how well do you know BTS, save one drop one (they’ll give you two songs and you have to pick between them), etc. They’re all so fun! You should try them

Little side note, those are not actually harmonies. People improperly use the term "harmony" all the time 😅 an harmony is when two or more singers sing DIFFERENT notes at the same time. In this song, the rap line is singing the EXACT same notes as the vocalists, but an entire octave lower. The notes, however, are exactly the same. Throughout the song there here are also harmonies, but in a few precise instances, such as when Jimin, Jin and RM sing together "and I will try to fix you" right before the big instrumental part. There, they are harmonising with each other, cause Jin and Jimin are signing different notes.

I disagree - that was just Jin and RM singing that line before the instrumentals. Jin was singing high harmony and RM sang the main melody in a lower register. Jimin sang with RM in the first line after the instrumentals.

@@KootchLB no, sorry but there is definitely no room for any disagreement here, whatsoever. It's not something subjective you can "disagree on" 😅 The second chorus starts with Jimin and Hobi singing, with Hobi signing the same notes, but just an octave lower (as RM and Suga did before). But in the very last part of the chorus, right before the instrumental part, the "and I will try to fix you" is sung by Jimin, rm AND Jin. The three of them are singing at the same time, with RM doing his usual lower octave part and Jin and Jimin harmonising with each other (thus singing different notes, a slightly different melody). No room for any disagreement, really.

What we can surely agree on is that this is a beautiful song sung beautifully. I have loved this song since I first heard it in 2021, it gave me comfort during the pandemic lockdowns and I watched it over and over and over.
