A bit more detail on the history of the song: It was not a single off an album, as many have suggested, nor was it ever released to radio. Sunday Night Football executive producer, Fred Gaudelli, who previously worked with Carrie, approached her about writing a song for the upcoming 2018 Super Bowl. The song was later used as one of the theme songs for the Winter Olympics. I can understand where Staci is coming from per her vocals as there's clearly some compression effects on them. I happen to love it now, but it took a few listens to get used to. Carrie can absolutely blow and is one of the best singers in music but it was certainly a departure from her usual country style. I think the idea was that the song had a more universal pop beat/sound as it was supposed to appeal to a very broad sports-centric audience. As a hype song, I think it's really fantastic. The diverse video imagery is also really moving, showing so many different kinds of champions. Even though it's a few years old now it's still one of my favorite songs to work out to. It makes me run faster. LOL

This song/video is EPIC and a classic...I luuuuuv the grit in her voice. I actually saw a video of them just in the studio part...with out the video story of the worlds pure champions. Her voice is coming from deep down...props to Luda...I like his simple but true to the song lyrics...as to his messing up other songs...I've heard so much worse...Another song to check out, even though Christmas has passed is "Hallelujah" with John Legend.
