They were also known as CTA ~ Chicago Transit Authority ~ Chicago is an American rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1967. The group began calling themselves the Chicago Transit Authority in 1968, then shortened the name in 1969. Self-described as a "rock and roll band with horns", Chicago's songs often combine elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, and pop music. They are still touring today ~

The harmony, the horns, the symphony, the keyboards, the drums ! The lyrics are relatable in 2024 as they were in the 70s !

One of the best things Chicago did was shift tempos. So this started out gently and finished a banger.

You need to get their 1969 debut album as The Chicago Transit Authority and cue up "Poem 58". It is 9 minutes of PURE FUNK led by Terry Kath on guitar, Danny Seraphine on drums, and Peter Cetera on bass. It will blow you away!

I have loved this song since I was in High School 45 years ago and have loved Chicago and seen them in concert a few times - Having said that, it is worthwhile to check out the cover of this song done by a group called Leonid and Friends - REALLY REALLY good.

That's actually Peter Cetera and Terry Kath. Jason did join the band until the mid 80s once Peter left.

So I hope I'm mistaken but I wonder about a bad ending in all this. I noticed you haven't posted to your site in the last seven months. Maybe I'm just old and tech challenged in my understanding, I hope. This is third in my ADogg journey. There is just so much here to enjoy! I like the groove on this Chicago song, especially after that beat drops at the end.

I'm in agreement you should check out CTA ~ I would suggest the song "Chicago Transit Authority Beginnings [2002 Remaster]" this band aged well through the years and adapted to the times with lots of beautiful music. RIP: Terry Kath U R Missed🔥

several good tracks oft ignored on Chicago XI, a most under-rated album and Terry Kath's final statement as a recording artist prior to death.
