Really enjoyed your reaction and comments. I thought Hootie and the Blowfish were a great popular group back in the day, but Darrius really shines as a country singer. He made the right choice when he moved on as a solo vocalist.

Darius is great. His easy smooth voice makes you want to sing along with all his songs. He was a natural fit when he moved to country music.

Darius was/is the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish. He successfully crossed over to country music. The song was co-written by Bob Dylan. The couple who was driving the convertible car are two members of the county group Lady Antebellum or Lady A as they are called now. The bearded guys in the video are from an American TV show called Duck Dynasty.

Ketch Secur of OCMS wrote the song, it was based on a sketch by Bob Dylan. Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum was in the video but not Hillary Scott or Dave Haywood. They did sing on the song though.

Darius has a huge catalogue of music , he has done a couple of covers , but his own songs are amazing, he has 6 or 7 solo albums now , and yes he was lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish , whose huge hit was called LET HER CRY late 80’s , early 90’s

Darius is a Carolina guy. Born & raised in South Carolina. He has a home in Charleston, SC & another in Raleigh, NC. I was born in SC but raised in North Carolina. I heard that he went to one of his kids school program and they started singing thus song. He liked it so much that he had to record it himself. HELLO GITANO FROM NORTH CAROLINA, 🇺🇸. Old crow medicine show may have been the first group to record and produce this song, but Bob Dylan wrote it. Even if he's not credited on almost any of the recording of it. He definitely was the one who wrote it.

I love Darius Rucker's voice and I'd know it anywhere, no matter the genre in which he's singing. I enjoy his music with Hootie and the Blowfish, as well as his solo country music. And you would absolutely love some of Gretchen Wilson's music! She was big in country in the early 2000s, as part of Nashville's Muzik Mafia, headed up by Big & Rich. Start with, "Redneck Woman," and then move on to, "Here For The Party." She's a tiny woman with a powerhouse voice. There's a recording of her singing, "Barracuda" with Alice in Chains that really shows off her power and range. Yeah, you should check her music out, I think she's someone you'd enjoy!

The song was started by Bob Dylan. The guys from Old Crow Medicine Show finished the song about 40 years later and released it in 2004. Darius Rucker's version is pure gold, but then I'm a huge fan of his.
