This is amazing! Love this version of this song, Simon & Garfunkel did great as the original writers but Disturbed just nailed it! It only took about 50 years from the original release date in 1964 to Disturbed’s version being released in 2015 to give it that edge that is was missing. But it was a great song regardless. Disturbed just took it to the boss level. 😊 Glad you enjoyed it, oh, and this isn’t how Disturbed usually sound, they’re a little bit heavier. 😉

After David finished his three hours of recording the vocals for this song he came out to listen to the playback and he started crying. He wouldn't look at his friends because he thought they may think he didn't like it and also be embarrassed, meanwhile everyone else thought he was looking away because he didn't like it . To think that it was such a powerful song that it made him cry at his own performance.

This is indeed a very powerful, moving cover of the song and it's as relevant now as it was 50+ years ago when it was written - not least because the world was under threat of nuclear war then and now, thanks to the madman in Russia, it once again is - possibly more so. It's also VERY different from what they usually play, so be warned 😉 Another cover I expect to move you is Johnny Cash's cover of the Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt".

This is an amazing version...the best ever. Knowing the original, feeling the vibe it was then....shows how this version is coming when the initial message wasn't heeded. This gives me chills every single time. It seems to impact everyone who listens. David Draiman is actually a pretty genuine Soul. If you don't know his other music, it's pretty hard, but he has an incredible voice. Apparently he was classical trained. He sings rheavy rock. His voice is gruff and growly, deep, expansive....it worked so well in this particular song. He got Paul Simon's highest approval. If you haven't heard the original version, it might be nice for insight sake. Then, the transformation of the song is even more powerful. I personally LOVE watching people see this for the 1st time. It's so powerful. 🕉 I just watched The O'Keefe music school of kids cover a song...... a song by a rock band, Tool, titled 46 and 2. Blew. My. Mind. I can't stop watching....talk about talent. If you haven't seen yet, watch Tool version first a few times, then watch the kids. It's worth it. ✌☮

Shawn, to truly appreciate how great this is, check out the original by Simon and Garfunkel in the 60s and listen to some other Disturbed tracks. Firstly you will see how the message is so much more powerful in this version and secondly see how surprising for many it was that David Draiman could produce a vocal performance like this.

Ok my man, just a word of warning in case no one else had... Typically DISTURBED is a heavy metal band. Not all their songs are metal though - as you can see. But if you like this one, please check out their song entitled "Uninvited Guest" off of the Evolution album. Another beautiful ballad. Hope you experience their harder stuff also.
