This is one of the best dis tracks of all time! I can think of only a few that might be better and that would be Ice Cube's dis to NWA "No Vaseline", (Eazy never did reply to that LOL) Tupac's dis to Biggie, "Hit Em Up" & Eminem's dis to MGK, "Kill Shot".
@ReligionOfSacrifice Жыл бұрын
This is the greatest rap song ever. Dr. Dre had done an album before NWA with lipstick and skinny as shit. He will go on to be a billionaire and thus the most successful producing rap music. Ice Cube wrote the lyrics to NWA and thus is likely the smartest of them as a rapper. His original diss of his old bandmates in NWA was smartest lyrics. Eazy E was the one who was a drug dealer and created NWA's first album off his drug money and was the only one with enough balls to be the singer of the band and thus gained fame the quickest singing "Fuck the Police." Yet with the opening musical pattern and this wonderful diss rap song lyrics which are all true history of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg with beating up a woman at the bottom of a stair well Eazy E pointed out that none of the band but him was actually from the streets of Compton and South Central as they all had come from rich families and lived well before rap music. I conclude this as the greatest rap song and then the rest is all Tupac and Ice Cube for great music. The rest of rap and get thrown in the garbage except for maybe a few Eminem songs.

Ya'll gotta do RBX - A.W.O.L. He (RBX) had just left Death Row Records (escaped from Death Row as he says) and dropped a diss track. In fact, it would be awesome to link some tracks. If you could do RBX "High Powered" from Dr Dre's The Chronic. AWOL calls back to stuff he said in High Powered. Then years later when Dre escaped from Death Row as well they reunited and appeared on Eminem's Remember Me? The hook was sampled from the one that RBX used in AWOL and referenced stuff he'd been saying almost a decade earlier in High Powered.

Cali was crazy back in the 90s. There was nothing like it, especially L.A. Eazy went and got everybody from the South Side Crip gang to be in this video shoot because Dre's head man at Death Row, Suge Knight was a Blood. Also, several members (bodyguards in fact) of Death Row were bloods. So this whole beef expanded far beyond their personal issues at the time. It reached the streets during the height of gang violence in LA. Dre and Snoop were portraying to be gangsters but Eazy said "you wanna go that far? Ok bet." But with Snoop and Dre being backed by bloods, even tho Snoop is a proclaimed rolling 20s Crip, E saw that as a threat. This was a message to not only the rappers, but Suge too, in case it ever reached a tipping point. This was more than personal. This involved turfs.
