Great reaction. Don't listen to the haters. Elvis was true down to earth. Even after 20 yrs of being the Most Famous person on the planet; in a world without Internet or even cable TV!

Lyrics: “ I take a look at you and me, are we too blind to see?” For me, he was begging the world to see and help! 🙏🏻 This was a long time ago when he recorded this, and as you said still prevalent today. Elvis cared, and was truly trying to make a difference 💖 Thanks for reacting. Bless you. :)

Elvis was chosen to sing this song because he could relate to it...btw songwriter Mac Davis apparently originally titled it Vicious Circle :)

You really hit the nail on the head there. Mac Davis wrote this song and it's original title was "The Vicious Circle". I don't remember the full story behind why he decided to change the title of the song. If you want another message song from Elvis you should check out "Walk A Mile In My Shoes" live 1970 Las Vegas. Really loved your reaction to this one ❤💪👏👏👏 Blessings to you & yours 💕

Check out the Hawaii concert. There was 1.5 billion people watched that concert world wide. He still holds the record today. I think it was 1973. Elvis with the generous heart is a good one also. In goes into detail about some of the things Elvis did for different people.

Elvis and i were friends for 10 yrs. up until his death. I was a kid from Memphis how we met was a series of events that i will not go into He wanted a friend and so did i we were that for each other. i asked nothing of him and he asked nothing of me. Elvis did not make friends easily because more times than not they wanted something from him. And as for parker all he wanted was money. Elvis was very ill his last time on stage he begged parker not to make him do it because he didn't want anyone to see him that way but did Parker care oh hell no. Between Parker and the so called Dr. Nick they killed the best friend i ever had in my life, i will always love and miss my friend.

Glad you could be friends with Elvis and vice versa. I always felt close to him through music and the messages. He died on my birthday so he is part of it every year. ❤️

Elvis knows of what he sings. This young man was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He literally lived in a house with “dirt floors”. He was a truck driver as a very young man. He started singing and “the Promoters” said they finally had what everybody was looking for, a White Man that could sing like a Black man, that’s fact! They even tried to have Pat Boone (a Milquetoast) White man sing Little Richards song “Tutti Fruitti”. Look it up, it was disastrous! So when Colonel Tom Parker (Elvis’ Promoter) found Elvis, he knew he had something and the rest is history……. SanJoséBob

Elvis was advised by his manager not to sing this song as it was too political, and Elvis insisted that he would as he wanted to send out a message to the world against the fight against poverty, and this was performed by an icon that knew the meaning of poverty as he experienced it first hand growing up in Tupleo Mississippi and Memphis Tennessee, he sang that 52 years ago and what has changed sadly nothing, poverty still as bad as ever and gun crime on the increase just to try and survive.

The performances you refer to in terms of this being a long concert were the summer season that he did in Vegas in 1970. Notice the different jump suits. A number of rehearsals and performances were filmed for a "rock-umentary" called That's The Way It Is. My favourite Elvis era. In other words, these performances are not all from the same concert. Same summer season + same venue x
