Best guitar player that ever walked the earth. He could play anything. Jazz/fusion with Collusseum II, hard rock with Lizzy in the 70s, hard rock and metal in the 80s and blues in the 90s and onwards. And everything in between.

For me personally, Gary is the greatest. The tone of his guitar speaks to my soul. I fell in love with the sound of an electric guitar at an early age, and although I can't play, I have developed a passion for how the sound of a guitar can make me feel. His guitar can make me go through all kinds of emotions, in a similar way there is a vocalist out there whose voice does the same (Floor Jansen, from Nightwish, react to her/them and your channel will go nuts with views. Anyway back to Gary: If you want to hear the most sublime guitar playing of your life, check out his rendition of The Messiah Will Come Again. The guitar sings, it screams, it intertwines itself with your heart and soul, it's just amazing. Probably his most known songs are Parisienne Walkways, Still Got The Blues and Over The Hills And Far Away (which incidentally got covered by Nightwish). He has a heavier, thrashier side, check out Nuclear Attack and Hiroshima. And if you want to see something really crazy, check out 'Like Angels' live 1997. it's a slow build ballad, maybe too slow for some, but it ends on a sublime solo and there is a part where he plays his guitar with a screwdriver, because why not.
