The video is meant to be like a cheesy horror movie from the 1980s. The setting is a christian school talent show. The audience at first was mad because the band were satan worshippers. Then the creepy girl uses the powers of satan to attack them. It's classic 80s horror movie plot. Ghost is a vert theatrical band. I like Ghost. They are very unique in how they present themselves and their old school metal sound.

Let's put it into perspective: Kids talent show. Everyone was leaving because they felt an evil power eminating from the band. The girl was drawn to that power. When the source of that power was interrupted by the principle, the girl unleashed her fury upon everyone. The man who unplugged the cable barely escaped intact. The two adults clapping at the end were the kid's proud parents. Simple, when you think about it.

It is hard to place Ghost in any genre just due to how unique their music is. But you can hear influences from the 70s, and maybe even some psychedelic rock in their sound. All in all this band sings about the coming of the Antichrist. Their song "Square Hammer" is a good listen, and it's really catchy. Thanks for the reaction.

I know the song, but first time for the video. They seem to be mocking the Catholic church, but it is likely all religion in general. The horror MV "Carrie" had a similar theme of locking everyone inside. They seem to say, just as the church preys on children, they have a=the same approach but a different message. "I see inside you I see your heart. I understand" This the girl finds empowering. She turns on the adults around her who have made her sad or miserable. A MV of rebellion. Cliché but entertaining. I enjoyed it. Thanks!

This was the feeling I got from it too. I related so much to the girl in the video. This video is a large part of the reason they are one of my favorite bands, and this is among my favorites of their songs.

John Weber I disagree strongly. (although I love Dance Macabre as well) Besides personal preference however, you need to consider the fact that this girl seems to react to music videos and focuses more on that aspect of the presentation. Keeping what kind of reaction she seems to do, it wouldn’t make much sense or be very entertaining for her or the viewers for her to watch the Snapchat video, which really isn’t great on its own. It’s a nice celeb endorsement, but that’s it.

The meaning of the song is that it is about the about the devil. The lyrics are as if the devil is speaking, saying "you are not bad, i understand your struggle, join me." The people run because of the bands satanic message. The girl is allured by the beautiful charms of the singers song and in turn stops the people from leaving.

Papa Emeritus III told Diablo Rock: Initially this song was thought of as a complete dome theme, with an even longer intro - “Devil Church”. As we already had other songs that had these great refrains we thought about leaving long choruses out. But in a coffee break, the chorus appeared out of nowhere and we put aside our dome theme without chorus and ended with a heavy power ballad. Lyrically, it is a simulation of the relationship between religious authority (church or sect) against the small person who can not differentiate empathy from pure manipulation. Everything disguised as a love song.

great video! I love this song, the guitar riff is amazing, the vocals melody is good, it's catchy but it sounds "evil" at the same time. it's supposed to be a school talents show, like "kids singing or acting" for the parents and teachers. some of the kids were dressed as Ghost performing the song and most of the people didn't like it. it's a cultural thing, I imagine it's a small town in the 70s or 80s where parents and teachers don't like rock and metal music and think "it's the devil's music" and it's very oppressive for young people because the adults are very conservative and old fashioned. also I think there's some homage or influence of the movie "carrie" from the 70s, it's a story about a girl that has mental powers. so, in the music video most of the people wanted to get out, but when they tried to separate the girl from the singer she started using her magical powers to close the doors and terrorize the people. in the end of the video the two persons clapping because they loved it maybe are the parents of the singer. you should search for the lyrics of the song and listen to it at least two more times. maybe some performance?. here's a link to a good one, I think it sounds better than the record: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHTHXp97pp6Xebs keep doing your reactions!, next time you do Ghost try "rats".

I pretty much agree with everyone else this MV reflects on (mostly American) Christian reactions to Satanism and how it affects people. I dislike how religion in general brainwashes you into feeling guilty about your choices in life. That's just MY feelings. You had several good facial reactions which I had to laugh at. The lawyer representing Tobias Forge claimed compensation of just over SEK 2 million. On Wednesday, Linköping District Court announced that the case was dismissed. Nihao Suzie, I travel to China often. I have an apartment in Qingxi town, Dongguan City and happen to love Ghost. I turned some of my Chinese friends onto Ghost and they like them now too! I turned them onto Linkin Park years ago and went to see them in Hong Kong. If enough Chinese and Hong Kong people like Ghost, they will come their for a concert. I look forward to that day. I only recently got into the band and music myself, so if you are still reading these comments, i may be able to help, the lyrics work as a love song, but its called Cirice, an old word for Church and its really about religion, how Christianity draws people in, by promsing to save people and give them a sense of belonging, saving them, as they are lost without God, or as the lyrics are ambiguous it can also be Satan, drawing people away from the church, which tells them they are sinful. Its actually a very good song lyrically, because it could just eb a love song, but isnt.

The song itself is about how Satan accepts you for who you are, and he understands what's it's like to be judged by others. Even though Christians are always pointing the finger at you calling you "bad", Satan is saying ""You're not bad, you're just human." Which is really the Satanist way.

You’d have to penetrate the lyrics to get why the singer is seen as “the bad guy” in the video. There are several clues in the lyrics that it is the Devil singing to her, and when she takes his hand, she accepts Satan into her heart. The thing that probably make it harder to understand is that the Devil is presented as an empathic, understanding character, which seems nice unless you are christian and well, terrified of Lucifer, the Prince of Lies.

The reason they found it so "painful", is because the lyrics disagree's with their religious dogma: "I know your soul is not tainted, even though you've been told so. You and I see eye to eye. Can't you see that you're lost without me? I can feel the thunder that's breaking in your heart, I can see through the scars inside you."(in typical christian interpretations, this person would represent the devil. Tempting humans, and claiming that he understand them, that they're the same. Ghost basically has 2 messages in my opinion, one that religion is BS, and 2 that the devil in the bible/stories is a better person than their god(A lot of people make this argument today, I tend to agree. Mainly because the devil first and foremost advocates freedom of choice, fair punishment and the free distribution of knowledge - Though I wouldn't necessarily advocate for either being)).
