Gorillaz are my favorite band because the songs can be so different - they combine genres in ways that you wouldn't think would work, but it always does! Their most recent album has a song that features both 6lack and Elton John, which is something I never thought anyone would say, but it's 🔥🔥🔥! Gorillaz was created by Blur frontman Damon Albarn, who handles the music and sings lead, and Tank Girl creator Jamie Hewlett, who handles the visuals. They collaborate with a lot of artists from all over the world and you'll see them as real people in their videos. The band itself is virtual, so you always see them animated, and they each have detailed back stories. Lead singer 2-D's eyes look black because they both have 8-ball fractures in them that caused blood to pool from two separate car accidents caused by bassist Murdoc. Drummer Russell's eyes look white because he is possessed by the souls of his friends who were killed in front of him in a drive-by shooting. On their first album, several songs feature bars by the ghost of Russell's best friend (notably Clint Eastwood and Rock The House), who was voiced by Del Tha Funky Homosapien (Ice Cube's cousin). There are videos that cover the band's backstory, but if you want to hear more of their music, I'd suggest Dare, Désolé, Tranz, Rock The House, Doncamatic, Stylo, Andromeda and Strobelite. Although, you can't go wrong with ANY of their songs!

Interpret this song as a commentary on the music industry. The rap portions mention using their musical sound and steering the direction their music should go. Basically, we will tell you what and how to play, and we will make money... Now go out their and play the music we tell you and make the people feel good... "Feel Good Inc" is a euphemism for the music industry. The laughing is the executives laughing at the artists they control, as they make money off of them. That's how I interpret it anyway.
@mrdavman13
@mrdavman13 11 ай бұрын
Pretty much got it. It’s about the two sides/ types of love. True, caring, supportive, freeing compassionate love. Fake, habitual, addictive, lustful, fleeting, selfish love. Basically three of the band members are trapped inside “feel good Inc.” you can see how everyone is sedated, like they’re in an opium den (the building is shaped like a syringe for a reason) and the city below is miserable. 2-D the lead singer tried to get everyone out of the trance and longs to get out and be free, with the guitarist Noodles. Noodles enjoys his time peacefully strumming his guitar while 2-D looks on in envy. Then the company turns on the “feel good” instantly everyone is awake and partying, and we see 2-D turn around to dance and party uncontrollably and instantly. The people pulling the strings continue to laugh, while they control all these slaves and keep them sedated. Towards the end we hear the lead singer whispering feel good to himself, quietly trying to convince himself everything will be okay.

I knew we'd get some headbobbing going with this one, that beat is undeniably catchy. Gorillaz is a solo/collab project started by the singer of the British rock band called 'Blur' where he makes the music and brings in other artist to contribute on the songs. Check out 'Hollywood Undead - Heart of a Champion' if you want some more rap with your rock. Favorite song: 'Tears for Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World'.

It's very much a drugs - lifestyle choice song. Look at the imagery. A post apocalyptic world with what looks like a crack den high up a huge chimney stack, frequented by a lot of smashed, dodgy looking people who have been partying for eternity stuck in this place. And the singer with missing eyes and teeth knows he wants out but where is out? Then the clear blue sky, sunshine and the windmill represent a different life choice - clean, pure and fresh. But the kid with no teeth in the highrise crack den can't find it. It's elusive and dreamlike. The saddest frame is the one where he is looking through the dirty window at something he can't find or escape to. And when he's singing "Feel good", it's not a description of how he's feeling - we only have to look at him to see that - he's asking a question perhaps to himself; " Feel good??"

The principal musician behind Gorillaz is Damon Albarn, former lead singer of the 90s Britpop band Blur. They were very forward with their British-ness in the way that the Kinks were in the 60s, so it's not surprising that that influence would come through.

The Gorillaz fall under the "Art & Experimental" genre due to having no fixed format. Each member is anonymous (aside from their founder, Damon Albarn) and each song has a guest singer from rap to alternative pop to english rock. Some of the more recognizable guest singers include: Delthe Funky Homosapian from De La Soul Flavor Flav from Public Enemy Ibrahim Ferrir from the Bueno Vista Social Club (cuban jazz) Ike Turner (Former husband of soul legend, Tina Turner) Kid Koala (turntablist) Lou Reed from Velvet Underground (70s rock legend) MF Doom (British rapper) Mos Def Nehneh Cherry (swedish rapper) Shaun Ryder from Happy Days (British pop) Sly Stone from Sly & The Family Stones (oldschool funk) Snoop Dogg

@@RobSquadReactions "Master Of Puppets" has a very powerful message. Very heavy metal for the period, although the definition of "heavy" has gotten more extreme since then. I'd defer it for a while. If you want a good introduction to "heavy" metal that would be perfect for where you're at now, I would suggest "Wolf Totem" by The Hu. The lyrics are in Mongolian, and the band uses Mongolian "throat singing" as part of the "heavy" effect. _Metal Hammer_ added it to their list of greatest songs (so far) of the 21st century (it's a relatively recent song.) From that video's comment section: "Maybe the most badass music video ever made." "Music goes through your head and grabs you by the heart. But this goes through your heart and grabs you by the head." "I think a third testicle just dropped listening to this." "The history of the lyrics. Lyrics were written at the beginning of the 17th century by Mongolian Prince Tsogt-Khun-Taij (1581-1637), Genghis Khan's descendant. In his time, the civil war between Mongols had already passed 300 years and this war continued another 100 and more years after his death. From the lyrics it is clear that Prince Tsogt-Khun-Taij of Khalkha Mongolia was not talking about an attack nor conquest, but on the contrary about the protection of his borders from other invading Mongols. 400+ years of civil war brought us (the Mongols) to its current state, torn by Russia and China and living in 3 different countries."

Hey - I know I’m late to the game. But I liked that you were unsure about this at first, as you were actually paying attention and thinking about it. Some people just hear the beat & title & think “hey, it’s about feeling good!” The title is paradoxical. The beginning IS weird & creepy - it’s suppose to be, and you picked up on that. The “feel good” isn’t a good thing. This is one of the best marriages of a video reflecting the actual meaning of the song that I recall. And this song is saying a lot. Glad to see you’ve given it another chance. 😊 My favorite song by Damon Albarn (Gorillaz frontman) is “Beetlebum” (by one of his other bands, Blur) My all time favorite song “Too Much Time On My Hands” by Styx

These guys are amazing. A little weird, yes. All of their videos have the members of the band in animated form. I'd agree with you about some alternative, but they really are a genre unto themselves. Prepare yourself for artsy videos and lots of musical transitions when you react to them. Clint Eastwood is another great choice. Btw, sound was fine on this one. I'm trying to think of stuff you can react to that won't have screaming, lol. Tons of artists don't scream, even in rock. I just really don't know what your "style" is yet. Maybe some 80s new wave?

Favorite song of all time? That's super difficult to answer. So I'll give you my top 10, in no particular order... 1) Silent Lucidity by Queensryche 2)1983...A Merman I Should Turn To Be by Jimi Hendrix 3) Cinnamon Girl by Lana Del Rey 4) November Rain by Guns'N'Roses 5) Fade to Black by Metallica 6) On the Turning Away by Pink Floyd 7) Glycerine by Bush 8) Zombie by Bad Wolves 9) Turn Your Lights Down Low by Bob Marley ft. Lauryn Hill 10) Dogs by Pink Floyd I'm sorry, but it's impossible for me to absolutely say which one is my favorite but this is a good representation of my favorite songs. And to give you perspective, my list started out with just me wanting to put three songs but it kept growing and growing and growing and honestly I could probably add more but I forced myself to stop at 10. Much love 💜bird

You asked us for our favorite songs or music... Oki... I asked to a lot of reactive people to react to a French group, but I never saw anything... In fact, it's a concert with 2 French groups, the concert's name is "collision" with Hint... You have choice between 2 great full musics, "versus" and "volfoni's revenge"... It's rock, no French lyrics, just special rock music... Not an American reactor had bullocks to react on this, you should... For both songs, so amazing

I have watched your reaction videos from the beginning. You were quite closed minded when you started, you have come a long way, and that’s how life should be. I truly enjoy your discoveries, keep up the journey.
