Ooo, one of my favorite tracks off this album. Kind of an overlooked gem of theirs, in my opinion. It rocks, it's fun, it's classic GNR subject matter. And wow, the mental picture it paints 😆😉

Axl's biggest influence is Elton John, hence the amount of piano they have in their songs

I'm very curious what you'll think of So Fine, which is a Duff McKagan song, he sings on it. Oh and after Illusions, you've gotta listen through GNR Lies my dude! There's some great stuff on that album 👍😁

The members of Guns n Roses have a lot of different musical influences that they bring to the band. Besides that, they seem to have a broad interest in music individually as well. I think this reflects especially in the Use Your Illusion albums, where this mix of styles really makes for unique sounding tracks.

Guns has their own sound but they are influenced by bands like Hanoi Rocks, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Rolling Stones & Queen. Aswell as numerous punk bands.

There’s one song on this album that sounds as if it belongs on Appetite for Destruction and you’ll know when you hear it.

It's interesting that quite a few of the songs on Illusions actually were written in the Appetite days. Just goes to show how creatively rich that period was for the band.

They have been inspired with songs in different ways. Locomotive and coma in particular had Axl complaining to the manager Goldstein about the songs which Slash came up with the guitar parts . Axl is like its so long and how can I make lyrics to this?? But as we can see, Axl rose to the challenge.

I know I'm late to the party but some backstory: Izzy Stradlin (on rhythm guitar) wrote this song about a ladyfriend of his: Lady Margot. She had a side-gig as a dominatrix. Sometimes she paud for his dinner and let him sleep on her couch if he hung out in the next room, made some noise and maybe interrupted her a few times during sessions because some of her customers get their kick out of it. I think it was Slash who wrote in his book 'Izzy knew this Margot chick, when I went over to her place with him she had a fat guy taped to the wall with an onion in his mouth.' Izzy also plays the sitar in this one :D

I have seen Guns 38 times in 9 countries. I was 16 when AFD was bequeathed us all. There are a few people who are as big of fans as me,but they have no better fan than me. I get so tired of hearing all the watered down fairytales and listen to the band. I have came to a huge crossroads in the evolution of my GnR experience. The older I get the less I like AFD and the Illusions were far and away the best music the original band minus Adler plus Sorum. #2 blue is my favorite of those two. Now for the first time I Am declaring that”Chinese Democracy” is a great fucking Record that the original 5 could never,ever created.

The only thing I disagree with you on is that there are no better fans of GNR than you. You’ve never met me.
@Drugo9873 жыл бұрын
Finally you got there, Chinese Democracy is amazing, and no, there’s no way Slash could have worked on it. But don’t disregard Appetite, it’s raw and magnificent. Still the Illusion are more “evolved”, very particular sound, very peculiar of them. Sadly they couldn’t follow Axl in his musical journey.
