I agree! Not only does Haley have a cool and unique sound to her voice, she's got some amazing chops as well. She's also one of my favorite vocalists. Honestly, I think the only reason she's underrated these days is because her solo stuff leans way more "adult contemporary" than the stuff featuring her that goes viral. I've watched a lot of her live performances (including the ones with her dad and the ones she and Casey Abrams did together) and she always slays, but whenever I try to dive into her actual albums... she's good and they're well produced but the music itself is very middle of the road. And while I *appreciate* what she's doing vocally on her albums, I generally don't return to them after a first listen and can't imagine the public-at-large getting very excited about them. Personally, I'd love to see her try an album that's a little more rock-oriented or something because I feel like it would suit her voice and personality more, especially if she flavored it with some of her bluesy and/or jazzy vibes. All that is to say that I think Haley is awesome, I evangelize for Haley and Morgan James whenever the chance arises, but at this point I think it's the writing on Haley's solo albums that's keeping her under most people's radar. I mean, it certainly isn't her vocal talent that's keeping her from being huge. Whatever it is, I'd love to see Haley bust through that barrier so more people come to realize just how talented she really is. Morgan too, honestly.

I truly think she is the most impressive singer I've ever heard. I know, I know...Dimash. But I mean it. Her vocal effects, how easily she turns them on and off, the way she jumps between them, yodels and breaks, the scatting, the twang when she wants it, the growl, the rasp, the natural smoky husk in her full voice... Never mind that she is like a real life Jessica Rabbit...I mean, I feel like I need to ask forgiveness after watching that. You should see her version of Tove Lo's "Habits", also with Post Modern Jukebox. I'm not sure anything is as impressive as this one, but it's also good. This is her song now. This is no longer a Radiohead song. It's a Haley Reinhart song...Radiohead just didn't realize they were writing it for her.

When people comment on my videos of Haley singing Creep live, a number of them will say this interpretation of "Creep" doesn't reflect the true meaning of the lyrics....that the song is about someone self loathing, so much so they can't approach their object of desire, and that Haley is too pretty or attractive to truly understand the song, which is ridiculous, it's like saying 'pretty people' don't get depressed because their life is perfect... Here's the rub, no matter how rich you are, people are often their worst critics, depression, self loathing doesn't rely on your status or charisma. Look at the number of highly charismatic, successful people who have taken their own lives? Chris Cornnell of Soundgarden, Comedian Robin Williams to name just two. Depression, Self loathing and Snicide doesn't care how rich or 'pretty' you are.

Very valid point. Thank you for commenting and expanding on that. I think that’s fair and an important aspect to consider. No one wants their pain to be dismissed. And everyone hurts somehow at some point. Being “pretty” etc doesn’t disqualify from suffering or the right to express pain

Vibrato, sliding, sliding in vibrato, growl, whistle?, highs, lows, airy, crisp and clear, smokiness and the way she sings on the edge of her voice like it's about to crack in both her highs and low tones but you know it's under control and never will crack. Background... The very first time I ever heard anything by Hailey OR PMJ was about a month ago. I happened upon a reaction to Creep (which I love), so I hit play. About 20 seconds in I had to hit pause. I immediately left the reaction and went to find the official (uninterrupted) version. I listened to THAT like 3 times in a row. I said then, and I still believe, this particular piece is one of the best musical performances I have ever heard. Ever. Any genre. Any time period. So, watching your obvious appreciation for this masterpiece was very nice. You SO seemed to be "one with the music" that I could barely take my eyes off of YOU (I've heard the song enough that I can take my eyes off of Hailey briefly). Great reaction! I always love to see people discover PMJ and Haley for the first time. For another standout performance by Haley with PMJ, try their cover of the White Stripes' hit "Seven Nation Army." They do it as a New Orleans style dirge and Haley is in full Jessica Rabbit mode (if Jessica Rabbit ever launched into some throaty blues). And I know you just reacted to Morgan James doing "Hallelujah" (and you saw her in "All About That Bass") but I think you would also really enjoy some of her collabs with PMJ, including their James Bond theme style cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On" (the one everybody will recommend to you) and their strong and sassy 60s Soul version of Maroon 5's "MAPS" (the one more people should recommend bc Morgan sprinkles a little Aretha on Maroon 5 and absolutely kills it). Another great PMJ+Haley performance that gets lost in the shuffle sometimes (though it still has millions of views) is their cover of Tove-Lo's song, "Habits." That song is catchy af and I find myself singing the hook for a solid week every time I hear it. Honestly, it's probably my #3 PMJ+Haley performance after "Creep" and "Seven Nation Army." Anyway, whatever you choose, they're all bangers. PMJ is on another level and when they add next-level vocalists like Haley Reinhart and Morgan James into the mix, you really can't go wrong. OH! And if you want to try a different singer with PMJ who will blow you away with her depth, gravity, and grit, try PMJ featuring Miche Braden doing a cover of Prince's "Purple Rain." Miche is the real deal, for sure, and she takes Prince to church.

I think the arrangement just magnifies everything 10x. It gives Haley exactly the text and subtext to go into those pockets in a natural way, expressing her true talents while simply just living through the song in a very coherent and unprescribed kind of way. Like, if you had a moment of genius this is how you'd sing, by which I mean, there is no semblance of contrivance or pushing anywhere. All of this is down to the arrangement which almost certainly is tailored specifically to Haley's voice, not just her capabilities but for her to 'slip into' (tailored, see what I did there) in as comfortable way as humanly possible. Like, what if you could ski the most incredible mountain way beyond the sum of your skills on a 'normal day' but someone laid out the slope so that all of your instincts were going to be the right ones and presto bingo, there you go. The arrangement is far more than beautiful, it empowered the star into the skies.

@@clintonshepard6107 You're a dimwit. Haley has never promoted her KZbin channel and has never ever tried to get subs on it. In fact, her channel couldn't be anymore disorganized than it is. As Haley has never ever cared about her KZbin Channel. Not to mention that someone else is a repository of most of her videos. Which is one of the reasons why she couldn't care less. Here's what Haley cares about moonbat, Spotify followers, Haley 5.7 million Spotify followers, Angelina 302 thousand Spotify followers. As Haley has more followers on Spotify than most people signed to record labels and another great thing about it is all, i.e., 100 percent, of the revenues generated via Spotify goes into her own bank account, as opposed to the bank account of a record label who will then give their artists a measly 10 percent of the revenues generated on Spotify. Indeed, that's why Haley cares about Spotify and other streaming sites like Spotify. As it earns her several millions of dollars annually. As Haley unlike other music artists of her caliber has elected to remain unsigned and independent, even though for years already every major record label in America has repeatedly tried many times to sign her to a record deal. As Haley doesn't care about fame and fortune, while Angelina, on the other hand, will do anything to acquire fame and fortune. Nonetheless, Haley could be as big as Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood if she wanted to be. As she is not only a better singer than both of them, but she is also far prettier and far sexier at the same time, but that's not what Haley wants to be. Moreover, Haley not only has an astronomically far better voice relative to Angelina Jordan but Haley also sings circles around Angelina Jordan and performs astronomically far better relative to Angelina Jordan. Finally, Angelina Jordan looks like she has been shot at and shit at and hit both times. She is not in the least attractive. In my opinion, Haley is world class all the way and Angelina is not even bush league. You see, I'm not impressed that she won Norway's version of AGT. As Norway has the population of a very small US state. So color me unimpressed.

@@bullfrog5037 Like I said before and this the last time I have followed her since watching her on Idol and have sponsored a lot of reaction videos for her so I agree with you how talented she is but for you to attack what I said about them both sounding like their from a different era and being able to do so much with their vocals is ridiculous and don't insult a 17 y/o girl that makes you look like you wasn't raised right.

Great reaction! Haley is my favorite singer of all time. Virtually everything I've seen her do - and there's lots of it out there on youtube - has been absolutely fantastic. I love it all, but I especially like the stuff she did with Postmodern Jukebox. Most of it is from 7-8 years ago, but she did return and do a killer rendition of Don't Speak with them in 2021. I hope you get a chance to check some of those other videos out as well. I'm so excited - I have tickets to see her live for the first time next week! Woohoo!

Yes, pretty crazy! I have two favorites of this song being sung. This one, and the one by Brian Justin Crum on AGT. Please take a look at that one. It will blow you away. I've just found your reactions and with the one from Skid Row and this one, I love your take on the songs. I will look for more in the future.

Your BEST reaction ever! I love your expression and I appreciate your knowledge and expertise, but most off all, I am blown away by your ability to articulate exactly what you mean in terms that resonate within me. Thank you. I have followed you ever since you first reacted to Nightwish singing "Ghost Love Score", and I have a feeling I join you on your journey, wherever it leads.

💗💗💗Rosalie! 💗💗💗I will come back and leave some more hearts and a longer comment tomorrow, have to sleep now to get up soon - long overdue, but then I saw this in my suggestions and couldn't leave without watching... So happy you finally discovered Haley who holds a big piece of my heart and is the reason why I'm no pure, but a Halien Angel... more please! I'm sure there are dozens of great ones suggested in the other comments, don't care which one first... But as I'm already here I got to tell you two, no, three things: a) I highly, very highly recommend watching Gigi de Lana's ("de Yana", pronounce her the Cuban way...) cover of Sam Smith's "Unholy" - You know Gigi? Not sure if I saw a reaction to her on your channel... but whether you know her or not, you'll be blown away maybe nearly as much as with Haley's Creep (I say "nearly as much" because this one here is unbeatable...) Just recently I learned that Gigi is actually an abbreviation for Gidget, me and another fan formed a new fan club for her, we are the Gidgettes, you're welcome! - Maybe I should rename myself into Halien Gidgette Angel... *lol* I should sleep now, getting silly... but I'm still too excited after your reaction... so: b) Loved the way you pronounced Vibrato, that was so Bavarian, Münchnerisch, or maybe Italian or Spanish, but not English, and as I'm Bavarian... you sound like my little sister :) c) Generally just love your reactions, so many great ones on your channel, Bol Hu, or recently Hi Ren (can't wait for more Ren, esp. Ren x Chinchilla "Chalk Outlines"...), and you didn't disappoint with Haley... so your first one with PMJ must have been All About That bass I assume? Have missed that, will go... Have an amazing day and enjoy it, peace and love!

Hi Rosalie! I loved your reaction to Haley's incredible voice! Postmodern Jukebox has featured many top shelf singers that would keep you in reaction videos for weeks! One of my favorites was Miche Braden and her New Orleans Jazz version of "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns and Roses. Her voice literally shook the walls! I hope you will check it out soon!

Rosalie, this is the song I first heard/saw her do. I love seeing others react as I did- even those who'd seen her on American Idol.. (Can you believe she ONLY placed 3rd??) Haley is beyond adjectives now to me. Fabulous. How's that? btw- she shared a pic on fb recently- she was voted "Most likely to win Idol" in middle school! (she was 20 on the show). Ok, ok. Loved this reaction, so happy the you did it. 7 Nation Army should be next- she so channels Billie Holliday and Ella in that one. She inhabits each song .

Had American Idol permitted only 'one vote per individual voting" as opposed to "almost unlimited power-voting", Haley would have won America Idol hands down and would not have been ripped off.
@sirkat344 Жыл бұрын
@@bullfrog5037 I will agree to that. Certainly makes sense. I admit to not seeing enough of the show to understand how the vote works. That's not a mark against the 1st & 2nd place singers- not their doing. Thanks for the info!
