This song is so country and so nostalgic it gives me goose bumps. And I'm so appreciative that you kids, who weren't even born when all the excitement in Bocephus' life took place, really do get it. My first concert was in 1966, I went with my folks. Hank Williams Jr was the headliner with his mother, another one of the names was Waylon as his music was just taking off. There were many other performing that night. This was back in the day when people were able to go down front take pictures and return to their seats. When I went to Hank's Hog Wild concert, i took along a camera, went down front to snap a few, you might have thought I was there to assassinate the guy the way the ushers started coming for me. Took the pics anyway and when I turned around they were already heading back to their post.

We always sat in the garage with the music going and a couple of 12 packs. Then the 12 packs turned into coffee. But we always watched the neighbors and the cars going by. This summer we lost our neighbor that came over almost everyday. My brother and I haven't just sat in the garage since he passed. All of our childhood friends have passed on as well. Cherish your friends and close neighbors as much as you can.

Age Means literally less than nothing. This past Tuesday I stayed up drinking with my 75 year old mother her 73 year old sister and her sister's 85 year old husband. Till 2 AM just sitting around drinking and arguing about politics... well....THEY drank. I quit after I left the Navy. But I was as close to smoke stoned as they were liquor stoned as I could get.
