Great reaction and enjoy the ride! All sounds are by mouth only - Adam the beatboxer is the no-monica who swallowed a drum set. Tim is the way low singer. No one is lead singer - whoever sings it best gets the nod. Super fun cuz they surprise you every single time.

They actually don't have a lead vocalist they all have their leads in different songs. That is so amazing about them. They are all so talented. If you like beatboxing check out Adam Rupp drum solo. He is the beatboxer in home free. It Is crazy. We, the fans are called home fries....although I am a euro fry since I am from Germany 😀

Every one of these guys is astoundingly talented! They all do lead according to what they do best. Just wait til you see some more and you'll be glad you are on this journey down the Home Free rabbit hole. For a couple suggestions, try their cover of Boyz2 Men End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, and Austin's lead on When a Man Loves a Woman. Mayday is a great video, but you must wait until you're familiar with the guys and where their voices fit with each other. For pure fun check out the Butts Medley and a must is Adam Rupp's drum solo...there are several to choose from. Also there's 9to5 Breakdown for beatboxing fun. That's a start, but anything they do is really great... I was never a fan of a cappella until I discovered Home Free and now I'm an addicted Home Fry. Join us for a super journey!

WELCOME TO HOME FREE 😉 No matter what video you watch you will be totally blown away.... They are portrayed as a country group because of the sing off that they won... The song that I 1st fell on to was End of the World By Boyz to Men... I can't tell you which one is the best of their videos because they cease to amaze me and I have been following them for years... Welcome to the rabbit hole.. Enjoy your digging.... I'm gonna follow you Sweetheart.. It's always fun watching somebody react to them...

A really fun one to do that doesn't get played as much is their take on Working for a Living by Huey Lewis and the News. Totally different from this but with the same great percussion and no-monica from Adam Rupp. Chance (the background guy in this one) does lead, and Austin Brown (first singer in this one) does crazy high background vocals.

Rob (Glasses and beard) - End of the Road (Boy 2 Men cover) Tim Foust (low note) - Hillbilly Bone (Blake Shelton cover) Chance (other bearded guy in the back) - Sea Shanty Medley Austin - (the one you thought was lead singer) Cold Hard Cash (he wrote and produced that song) Adam Rupp (Beat boxer) - Drum Solo

If you're truly a fan, then you're now a part of a group of who refer to themselves as "Home Fries". Not knowing you're tastes in music, you might find their "Country Fried Pop Medley" enjoyable. It's a mash-up of top 40 hits from circa 2014. It's clever and fun (kinda like the "Butts Medley" you already reacted to). In my opinion, their collaboration with Lee Greenwood on his "God Bless the USA" cover is amazing. It's very stirring and includes the vocals of some incredibly talented airmen from the US Air Force. Also an incredible performance by their beat boxer, Adam Rupp.

They don't really have a lead, they all sing lead at one time or another except for Adam Rupp the beatboxer. He does sing, just mainly in harmony with the others or maybe a line or two here and there, rarely. One of my favorites that I think doesn't get as much attention as it deserves is One Man Band. I'm also partial to Brothers In Arms these days.

Only thing I can say (I think most of us would agree) is to focus on their earlier stuff FIRST, so you can see how they evolve over time, songs such as Folsom Prison, Blue Ain't Your Color, When a Man Loves a Woman, and others before listening to their cover of Mayday so you can hear how they work at layering and harmonizing before attempting it. One of my favorites is their Boyz 2 Men cover of End of the Road for something which is more pop than their other stuff

As the old saying goes "you ain't seen nothin' yet." These guys are AMAZING. They take turns with the lead depends on the song and who they think is best for the lead. Adam Rupp, no words to describe the heights and depths he reaches with his beat boxing/voice instrumentals. Their range of genres is endless. 1. "Working For A Living" Huey Lewis cover. 2. "American Pie" done with original singer/song writer the Iconic Don McLean. 3. "Brothers In Arms" a Dire Straits cover. 4. "Helplessly Hoping" a Corsby Stills and Nash cover. 5. "End Of The Road" a Boyz to Men" Cover. 6. "May Day" (might want to wait until you're more familiar with who sings what before you listen to this) and last but certainly not the least, their latest release "Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up" a Garth Brookes Cover. Loved your reaction, subbed and looking forward to more. My apologies for the eye strain from this long winded missive , when it comes to Home Free I get carried away.

Pentatonix are the Kings and Queen of the prom, Home Free are the guys having a tailgate party in the parking lot and Voiceplay are your theatrical group. First, continue watching the Halo Theme after the vocals end for an important message. And watch VP's Boy Bands in 5 Minutes for a quick walk-thru of the person mentioned. Second, they've done four great numbers from The Nightmare Before Christmas, with costumes and characters: Oogie Boogie's Song, This is Halloween, Kidnap the Sandy Claws, and What's This. And to end with a bit of VP goofiness watch A Crimpella, and The Fox. I never see anyone recommend those two.

Great reaction! I love it when people discover Home Free. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Robb Lundquist (beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

Please react to DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR. I know it's not December, but this cover is so brilliant you have to experience it. In it you'll see every member get a bit of the spotlight. It was (intricately) arranged by the beatboxer. You'll also see that the beatboxer is not the only one that does beatboxing duty when 'this guy is a problem' does a little beatboxing. Glad you enjoyed this very talented group. This is one of the best acapella groups out there. Starting front row left - tenor Ron Lundquist -Minnesota. Front row center - tenor Austin Brown , Georgia. Front row right - Bass Tim Foust , Texas. Back row left - Baritone Adam Chance (goes by Chance) Alabama . Back row right - Beatboxer Adam Rupp, Minnesota. Adam Rupp and his brother Chris started Home Free. Chris left in 2016 and was replaced by Adam Chance. If you react to pre2017 video Chris almost always wore some kind of hat. Adam Rupp is a world class beatboxer and has his own “drum solo videos” on KZbin. Since your starting down this Home Free path most Home Fries (Home Free Fans) will ask you not to react to the song MAYDAY until you know the members and there roles (usually 5 or 6 songs). You just listened to one of their signature songs here are a few more of what think is their signature songs. BROTHER-IN -ARMS, TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROADS, WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN and UNCHAINED MELODY. You have a great day

There is a reason why their beat boxer - Adam Rupp - is called "freak of nature" or "living drumkit", he is in a league of his own. And Tim Foust - to hear a bass like him is extremely rare especially considering the fact he can sing up to a high tenor. There are four stellar lead singers in this group and whoever fits the song best takes the lead and their harmonies are as tight as you can get. They never disappoint, it's usually hard to remember there are no instruments involved.
@cavamom
@cavamom 2 жыл бұрын
Depending on the song, the lead may be done by any of the four singers. Each one has a distinctively different voice and each have a different range. I think this is what gives them such a full, rich and unique sound. Tim Foust is basso perfundo who can also sing tenor. Adam Chance "Chance" is a baratone but can cover for Tim as bass. Rob Lundquist sings tenor and Austin Brown sings counter tenor. Together they create magic. Then there's Adam Rupp the beatboxer/percussionist/vocal instrumentalist....he's a whole other kind of wicked good.

I found these guys last year. This was the first song I ever heard from them & I was instantly hooked. The talent of these 5 men is insane. Together they are a perfect fit & complement each other so well. Tim Foust is the best bass singer in the business & Adam Rupp their beatboxer extraordinaire can make any sounds & is in a class by himself. They lean towards country but can sing any genre. They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

As you progress in your Home Free journey, you will figure out this group doesn't really have a lead vocalist. Whoever is the right fit for a particular song or a particular part in a song is who takes the lead. On a few rare songs, that's only one person, but mostly they share the lead back and forth between them. Even the percussionist sings along on a few songs and they all are able to do some beatboxing. There's a video out there of them in concert have a beatbox relay between all of them. There's also a beatbox solo: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5LRfIqCisZ3psk Since you marveled at the bass, would also love to hear your reaction to one of their newer ones - "Brothers in Arms": kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXTLdWWNn6llqrs And another recent great one is "Unchained Melody" where they go back to the original meaning of the song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioDWgWOld7GeqtE

Adam Rupp THE beat boxer is in a league of his own. He is insanely talented and skilled and if you check out his drum solo from 2015 (red shirt) I guarantee it will blow your mind. There are newer videos out there, as well and he has only gotten better over time. He has been perfecting his skills for 20 years and it shows.

i think they dont have a lead vocalist position in the group they just go by the voice that suit the song most -- Brothers in arms ( lead taken by Tim Foust bass of the group ) -- when a man loves women ( lead taken by austin brown high tenor of the group ) -- end of the road ( lead taken by Rob lead tenor of the group ) -- I cant outrun you ( lead taken by Adam chance Baritone of the group ) -- adam rupp is the beatboxer of the group ( drum solo by adam kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5LRfIqCisZ3psk )

You shouldn't have to filter Home Free as they release their own music and they never get videos blocked.

Well mostly don't get blocked. Their video of 'Ain't Gonna Stop...? Only audio left on this platform. Their original songs after they went independent should be fine though. It sucks when the reaction to one of their covers gets blocked.

If you'd like to hear more from "deep bass guy" (Tim Foust), I would suggest Misty Mountains - Peter Hollens featuring Tim Foust. It's an excellent song in it own right, and ALL of the vocals are done by the two named vocalists, with multiple layers. Peter Hollens is known for his use of multi-tracking his own vocals (I know of one where he said there were well over 100 tracks of his vocals), and does an amazing job of arranging his songs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5OVeYVqbNOje7c

So your going to join the rest of us going down the rabbit hole . Soon you'll be a Home Fry. It depends on the song as to who will sing the lead. They are all lead singers. Each one could go out on their own and have a great career. And singing together they complement each other. Together they are the best band that I have heard. Maybe it's because you hear every voice and there's no musical instruments in the way of thier singing. PLUS and it's a big plus, when you go to one of their concerts you also get a good show. They interact with the audience and everyone claps, yeals, laughs and has fun. Then theres story time with Tim. lol These guys are all best friends and their fans love them and the band shows that they love their fans. Its a great community.

The one you didn't think was doing much was the first voice you heard. He was doing the jaw harp sound at the beginning and the end (in addition to singing harmony). It's funny how so few people pick up on that. We see him at the end when the only sound still happening is the jaw harp sound and his mouth is moving in perfect sync to it. HaHaHa

The people Front row, left to right Rob Lundquest (beard & glasses), angelic tenor. Austin Brown (first singer), high tenor. Tim Foust, basso profundo with a 5+ octave range. On the still from the video, left front is Rob “The Beard” Lundquist, tenor with a smooth, versatile maturity. To see him really show what he has, try End of the Road and One Man Band. Left back is baritone Adam Chance, just called Chance usually, who can take bass when needed. He did the mouth harp on this. Helplessly Hoping, Winter Song, and One Man Band show his talents off. Center front is high tenor Austin Brown. His voice has matured a lot since the group began. A good early song is Ring of Fire, and an awesome later song, When a Man Loves a Woman, will knock your socks off. Back right is founding member, beatboxer and freak of nature Adam Rupp. Check out one of his drum solos, live, and his arrangement of Do You Hear What I Hear. Last, and certainly not least, is Tim Foust, basso profundo with a 5+ octave range, and apparently part dragon. His collaboration with Peter Hollands, Misty Mountain, is a must-see. How Great Thou Art and Brothers in Arms will showcase their ability to blend. To see their funny side, Sea Shanty, All About the Bass and Butts Remix. Don’t watch Mayday until you’re familiar with the group and know their usual roles! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! It’s pretty deep, but you’ll never want to escape. If you react to Home Free, the Home Fries will come in droves!

You have just met Adam Rupp, beat boxer extraordinaire, or as we refer to him....our own little Freak of Nature.😊 Also, he is the founder of the group. His brother Chris used to be in the group, so some videos you see will feature him. The man in the back was Adam Chance, known to us as Chance, and he was doing the sound of the Jaw Harp in the beginning and end of the song. All other sounds were Adam Rupp. They all have amazing voices. Check out "End of the Road" and "Helplessly Hoping". For more Foust bass....try "Folsom Prison Blues".

They all take the lead on different songs, except for the beatboxer (Adam Rupp-the freak of nature). You could check out one of his "drum solo's", My favorite with Adam Chance or Chance as we call him (brown vest) in the lead is their cover of Ed Sheeren's "Castle On The Hill" or their original "Dive Bar Saints", both great songs. Although you'd be hard pressed to find a bad performance from any of them though. Oh and welcome to the Home Fries

Sorry but when you had a moment of stunned silence, trying to process what you were hearing, made me laugh. I've had that look on my face many times with most acapella groups and with Home Free specifically. Sort of a mix of "They can't be doing this with their voice" to "Okay, these people aren't human." Quick run down - Chance (backrow you said you didn't hear much of him) has a whiskey smooth baritone but slides into bass or low tenor when needed. Adam Beatboxer - He seldom sings and when he does it is primarily background but when he does, he is a tenor. Rob with beard and glasses has a powerful tenor, almost operatic...he has the soul sound in the group. Austin is the high tenor and yes, he can be a problem. He seems to just loves going through high runs with ease and flooring everyone. Then Tim...he can also be a problem as he holds down the bass and hits low notes with a devilish smile. He can sing to the depths of knocking on Satan's backdoor. His bass hits you in the chest live. For a good fun song that showcases some of their beatboxing/instrument mimicking abilities, try "Can't Stop The Feeling" For chest rumbling bass, check out "Folsum Prison Blues" "Brothers In Arms" or "Hillbilly Bone" For a shot of whiskey smooth Chance, check out "Some Girls Do" or "Down To The Honkeytonk". For a bit of soul from Rob try "Catch Me If You Can" or End of the Road". And for Austin high notes, "When A Man Loves a Woman" or "Love Me Like That" And for just full on fun, "Sea Shanty Medley" is a must! Truthfully, everything they do is very pleasing to the ears. Have fun!

Try Adam Rupp Drum Solo from Home Free. It will blow your mind at what this guy can do as percussion. It may not be your thing but if you like bass Peter Hollens/Tim Foust (the bass here) sings Misty Mountains. It is awesome.
