Lead singer Darius Rucker is now a solo country artist. He’s awesome!
@Bozemanjustin4 ай бұрын
Don't try and deceive this young man. He's just learning... Country music ended in 1997... Darius Rucker is doing whatever kind of music country music turned into... But it is not country music. Here's the litmus test, if you could go back in a time machine to a roadside honky tonk in 1972, and play the song, would everybody be dancing or would you get dragged behind a pickup truck... Modern country music would get you dragged behind to pickup truck
@SpanishPeanut4 ай бұрын
@@BozemanjustinI definitely hear what you’re saying but country music has evolved into what it is today, thanks to the 90s. I won’t listen to the new stuff but I’ll sure as hell blast some Cody Jinks!

This song has made me cry for 30 years now lol I used to borrow my dad's cassette tape and listen to this song over and over and over again. Even at 6 years old, even though I didn't understand what he was singing about, the beauty and soul in his voice made me feel like a grown ass woman.

Rucker has also said that the song hurt him to write, and that he doesn't understand why someone would let someone else cry instead of holding their hand. He also said that the song is about heartbreak, and that he doesn't think the person the song is about really cared what was happening

I was in my mid 20s when the style of music came out and it just floored me. I had been into rock and prog rock (Rush), funk (Extreme), Southern rock and classic rock and stadium rock and any other kind of rock but something about alternative and grunge just hit at a different level. Hootie and Candlebox and live and evanescence and so many others that were just so different and so cool.
