This came out my freshman year in college and was EVERYWHERE. Even into the late 90's it STILL got people hype AF when it came on in a club or a party. It's one of those, "That's my shit!" type songs that everyone knew and got hyped for. And yes, people jumped during the "jump" part.

Everlast had been around forever. He goes back to the eighties. He came up with Ice T's Rhyme Syndicate. Now he's doing the Whitey Ford thing and he reunited with House of Pain under the name Coka Nostra.
@barriehull7076
@barriehull7076 2 жыл бұрын
House of Pain was an American hip-hop trio who released three albums in the 1990s before lead rapper Everlast left to pursue a solo career. The group's name is a reference to the H. G. Wells novel The Island of Dr. Moreau, a reference carried further by the naming of their 2011 tour He Who Breaks the Law. The group is best known for its 1992 hit single "Jump Around", which reached number 3 in their native United States of America, number 6 in Ireland and number 8 in the United Kingdom. The group broke up in 1996 but returned in 2010, after the trio had been members of supergroup La Coka Nostra for several years.

When I was in late elementary school, I used to play basketball at the courts across the street from my house. One day, as we were leaving the courts to go back home, these guys who were probably in their late teens or early twenties, pulled up to the basketball court in a Volkswagen Jetta and started busting out these sick ass moves and trick shots, and all of a sudden, Jump Around started blasting on their car amps, really loud. It was the most gangster thing I had seen up until that point in my life.

Loving your reactions :) I went to a nightclub on new years eve 1999 - this is what they played as we saw in the new millennium, the place went wild and we were all jumping along to it. Happy memories.

The 80s, hands down, best music. The sheer variety can’t be matched, stated to fade in the 90s onward

When I had my son, for some reason, whenever I had to get up with him in the middle of the night, every song that was popular when I was 13 came back with total clarity. My son is 10 and can correctly do this song, "OPP," and "The Humpty Dance" when he hears them. When he was 3, he accurately used Ice Cube lyrics against a bully at a playground. There's nothing funnier than hearing a very blonde child say to a kid, who was twice his size, "check yo self before you wreck yo self, cuz shotgun bullets are bad fo yo health, fool!" That was a proud parenting moment. Whenever this song is played at a party or a club, everyone jumps! I've seen chicks do this whilst breastfeeding. It's a compulsion.

There's a college that they play this song before tip-off. They have the whole crowd standing and jumping. I wish i could remember what college it was
