As someone stated, Benjamin Breeg is a fictional character. This is a Dave Murray gem! One of my favorites on an album that tends to get overlooked, which blows my mind.

I would recommend you watch the live versions of any Maiden song, you get the full experience of what they are really like and just how good the songs are. I suggest either The Clansman or The Wicker Man live from Rock in Rio or En Vivo.

totally. live is best or at least an official vid like aces high or number of the beast. try the clansman 2001 9/16. bruce had short hair in this and rock in rio because of his other career as a professional passenger jet pilot which included piloting ed force 1 around the world.

Most Maiden songs are based on history, literature, mythology, war, religion, societal struggles. This one's a deviation, in that the story is made up. Benjamin is a fictional character. When the song came out in 2006, many Maiden fans spent a bunch of time researching and trying to figure out who the person is or was.

Don't make the same mistake as other people who make reactions by pausing the video and replaying it from that same minute/second. Instead, go back 5 or even 10 seconds after making each comment when you pause the song so you don't lose momentum or cut the solo or vocals

a great storyteller. watch him on bruce dickinson delilah singing the tom jones song in a leopard skin suit acting the part of a giddy contestant who gets to sing. he crosses himself and goes to it hahaha. like a monty python skit. he also writes songs like the 18 min empire of the clouds about an airship wreck, is a champion fencer, novelist, aviation business owner, gives speeches.
