I'll be 70 in 5 days. And I feel every bit of this song.. I know I've had a blessed life. Not financially we've struggled most of our life but with the wonderful family that I've had and the family of friends I've had but now I kind of lost a lot of those friends there busy with lots of grandchildren and kind of doing their own thing. I've had some major health problems the last few years and because of my back and some other things I can't go do the things I love to do. I want to go to Vanderbilt football games this year because they're doing so well, and so many other things that I hesitate to do them because I don't want to make things worse. So yes I'm starting to think there's no guarantee how much time any of us have left. Most of my ancestors my grandparents great-grandparents lived into their late 80s early 90s but there's no guarantee. So I'm trying to make plans now so that when I am gone my kids don't have to worry about what to do for me and they're telling me they don't want to talk about it lol.

When i was in grade school, summer breaks seemed to last forever. I think that we end up in a deep rut of routine. We're so busy with life that you don't notice that time has flown by. When you finally do notice, it's too late. That's what i told my children. Don't be in a rush to grow up, once its gone it's gone.

This song always hits me hard in the feels. Most country does! Especially; Alyssa Lies, The Little girl, Concrete Angel, Because of you, and There goes my life. If you don't know any of those, I suggest you change that. **EDIT** I'm 42, 43 a few months. It never changes! I can't believe I have 5 kids (well 5 in 6 days) that are all 20+. I also have a 10yr old. But it feels like not very long ago, I was in my 20s, I was young, carefree and had a housefull of dirty fingers, laughing, yelling voices, and all the hugs I could ever need! Today it's just myself and my youngest. it's amazing still! But.. I took those years for granted and I would give anything to go back just one more day.

I love everything that Kenny Chesney sings, but this one squeezes my heart. It is 100% accurate. I remember being very young and taking a nap, and now well it’s a lot of years later. A whole lot. I remember my seventh birthday, more accurately, the day before it, because I thought I would grow. Imagine my sadness when I didn’t. Lol! Even though that’s been a number of years ago, it feels like yesterday. I have tried not to blink, but no matter how hard you try, it feels like you do. If you have not yet reacted, you should try There goes my life, A lot of things, different, young, that’s why I’m here, and just to lighten things up a smidge, she thinks my tractor’s sexy. There are a lot more, at the moment they escape my brain. As I said anything you react to by Kenny Chesney, I can’t imagine you not liking.

My daddy passed away in 2008. He was 92 years old. Not long before he died, he told me, "In my mind I'm still 18 years old. It startles me to see that old man in the mirror looking back at me. I don't know who he is or how he got here". Today, at even 63 years old, I already understand.

I'm 55. Married my highschool sweetheart at 22. We raised 2 daughters and now have 2 grandkids. Seems like just last week my wife and I were 17 and going on our 1st date. Because in your later years those memories will be what gives you peace and carry you through.

It DOES! Yep, time speeds up as you get older. This is a great song, because everything in it is so true. When you are a kid, a day seems like a year....by the time you hit your age 39, you are feeling the time going faster..and it does get faster as you go through the years...Try to do you best each day, because that affects your tomorrow...and don't blink:) Use the lessons you learn along the way, to make those tomorrows even better---that is what the lessons are for....and keep your "kid" alive inside, it will serve you well as you age...you will understand how wise that kid was/and still is!

Every trip around the Sun seems shorter each and every year. It never stops speeding up. I relate it to someone having a 1 hour commute to work, for the first time in their life. That first day it seems like it take forever to get home. By the 3rd month it seems a little shorter, because you're getting used to it. Every trip through the calendar gets faster and faster, because you've been through it so many times. Along with that, you're perception of when something happened in the past, gets harder, in the short term, the older we get. I can remember something, and tell you that it was 1978. But, things that happened 5 years ago, might seem like it was 15 years ago, or only 2 years ago. It's really frustrating.
