Kimbra is one of the most underrated vocalists/performers I’ve ever seen. Love her so much

This song and artist doesn't get nearly as much love as they deserve. She's brilliant.

She's so great. Her studio sessions are even better than the official videos

shit dude Kimbra's first EP is fire but Kimbra's Golden Echo album is an underrated sonic masterpiece IMO. Listening to her albums and then watching her thought process behind those albums would be great. In terms of lyrics they're usually different ideas of the Title of her album, so in the first EP it would be different 'vows' and how people want to make or break them - so the lyrics are more her explorations of ideas I think. Subscribing to see you do more Kimbra Reactions!

I think the video and song are in harmony with each other - both share a theme of loss of innocence, both play out an unloving relationship, both objectify the man.. (for the girl in the video he is essentially a Ken doll, enabling her to have the fantasy of being a grown up woman.) But the lyrics of the song paint the main character in a much darker light than the girl in the video. The girl in the video is trying to be perfect and gets cheated on.. Which we see breaks her relationship with him but restores her relationship with herself. The lyrics however... "I want to settle down, it's time to bring you down, on just one knee for now, let's make our vows" Is kinda menacing. More interesting storyline than the video imo.

Hey Mace,, If you had the time, please react to this song from Parvaz Homay. He's another classical singer as Homayoun. Not sure if you've listened to him before or not, but here is a recent song from him which is the soundtrack of a series on air currently, with a millions of viewers, and being so new I couldn't find a clip from him singing it live or with a video clip, so here it is with a pic from the series called Suge Siavash, (The mourning of Siavash) and Siavash being the name of the main character of the series and an ancient literary character from Shahname. I hope you could listen to Homay and other songs from him as he plays few instruments especially Tar and uses beautiful lyrics (which I hope you can find in Eng!)So enjoy this one, even if you didn't have time to react to it: I translated the lyrics for you: Hit, hit, hit my heart by fire, See how your love has become by murderer As tooth biting on the liver I will not survive from this slaughterhouse A devious pulls me by my garment to a trap Just as Siavash,I have no choice but to enter the fire (previous two lines are from Rumi) You have become a typhoon in my being, while the sea moving from my shore The death of Siavash in my heart, The rain of fire in my heart, Hit,hit, hit my heart by fire... Don't leave me oh same-sinner, don't wish for my insanity Hold my hand oh beloved, in this inevitable fall I'm addressing you, oh sweetheart, watch the border of my insanity. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIamZ5yiatFmaM0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hImcXqOribN-npI

Your reactions are on point Mace... Again... let me reintroduce M.I ABAGA. Quick one... Nigeria created the Afro Beats and have been holding it down in the whole world. But Rap is everything to some of us here in Nigeria, Africa. For over a Decade, M.I Abaga have been holding it down for the Culture! M.I remains the best Rapper in Africa (unfortunately underrated). He is so good that he releases Two Albums. One for Mainstream and another he calls "Illegal Music" & he has up to 3 Illegal Music Albums! From the beginning to date, I'll add a few links to some of his songs to back my claims as to why I call him the best! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqK8eaN8p6Z3qJo (6 Foot) kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2TJknt_grOYa80 (Black Bill Gates ft. Khaligraph Jones) kzbin.info/www/bejne/f325qX5onNCfoZI (Everything) kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5mzpomAjd14qbM (King James) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZq9aIBnpaeens0 (Epic) kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2OumYdrhLWappo (You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives) This brought more anger, diss from other rappers, cus you know that truth is bitter. Rappers started dropping the rap game after they make it into Afro Beats. The truth is, after this song, Nigerian Rappers actually woke up. It wasn't about South African Rappers making name along in the Continent. Then.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zqq2fKeldrt8nrM (Martell Cypher 1- which is the best)! kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKKxdmehbpqIeaM (Viper) So there is a very good rapper called Vector (but he is no match for M.I in my books), he dissed M.I and Viper was M.I reaction to that diss. I'll stop here for now.
