She is quiet but when she gives her opinion she gets it most of the time, I think she rocks! And she is right because Jimmy Page the guitarist used alot of layers of guitar parts on this song and entire album, btw Jimmy also produces all of the LZ albums and he recorded and mixed and finished this entire album in 19 days

This is a reworking of an old blues song turned hard; the drums and guitar definitely pack a punch. This entire album (called "Presence") is a giant deep cut of phenomenal songs that I think a lot of people tend to overlook. Well done for you guys choosing a lesser reacted to song. I'm glad you're both enjoying Led Zeppelin so far and hopefully you share your discovery with others because good things are a shame to be passed by.

This is based on an old Blind Willie Johnson song, blues, gospel, and evangelist. Members of Zep were huge fans of many of the early black blues and soul artists. Took a lot of their songs and added their own slant to things. If you listen to the original version of this song, the only similarity is the lyrics. Zeppelin added a complex arrangement and put it on steroids. Each member of Zep is a virtuoso with great improvisational, playing, and writing skills. These guys used to just sit down with an idea and in a take or two write a finished product. No band that I know of put together ten albums worth of songs with nary a clunker on them. One, amazing, amazing band.

From this same album, “For Your Life” and “Hots on for Nowhere” are great. If you like slow blues, there is a song “Tea for One”, the last song on the album that’s really good too.

Have you noticed that John Bonham does not groove with the bassist but plays with the lead guitarist. Listen close you will hear him play triplets where most play one beat he plays three. Where they get that sound is his drumming

This Led Zeppelin album 'Presence' tends to get overlooked, but had killer songs like this one... "Achilles' last stand"... "Candy store rock"... "For your life" 🔥🤘 The album was recorded under desperate circumstances in late 1975. Lead singer Robert Plant was involved in a car accident in Greece while on vacation, his wife Maureen was lucky to survive... but his ankle was smashed and Plant couldn't walk, much less perform on stage. So Zeppelin touring was out of the question. Jimmy Page (guitar) and Plant opted to write and finish recording a new album... Robert Plant did all his vocals in a wheelchair, wearing a cast (it would take a year for him to walk again) and Page hurriedly did all the overdubs for the songs in 2 days. 'Presence' went to #1 on the charts in 1976, but without a tour or major promotion, the album sold less than previous Zeppelin records. They also released their concert movie 'The song remains the same' that year in theaters. When Led Zeppelin finally returned to the USA for a tour in 1977 after Robert Plant was deemed fit to perform (if not at 100%) ... Unfortunately, the band encountered a number of mishaps and altercations on that run... The comeback tour ended prematurely after news reached Robert Plant from Europe that his 5 yr old son Karac had died from a virus infection. Led Zeppelin never got the opportunity to play America again. In the 80's after Led Zeppelin had split, Robert Plant returned to recording and touring solo, but refused to play Zeppelin songs for years... He would play smaller venues and never reached Zeppelin's level of success.

Led Zeppelin is very complex later in their career. The album and cover are very prophetic..."PRESCIENCE" With a perfect family, in a beautiful restaurant, all paying attention to the object in the center of the table. Not the restaurant or the other people...Substitute cell phones and you have OUR society...

To Recklezz: good for you to explain what I wondered at (the young lady's relative silence). To the young lady: nobody expects you to be familiar with 50 year- old songs... we are interested in your feelings about them on first hearing them.... just let fly! I'm with you both (sometimes 3) since your first Zep song, and am with you through Floyd, Tull, Supertramp, Rush, Dire Straits and Eurythmics... and Yes, The Kinks, The Who, Jeff Beck Group, Cream and.... maybe then you'll get to more abstruse stuff like The Tea Party, Tragically Hip, Doug and the Slugs, Voivod. The last four being Canadian reveals where/ what I am. Peace from Canada.

The inspiration for this was a 1927 Blind Willie Johnson song of the same name. You wouldn't recognise the original by listening to this. Drastically, radically different. If you want to listen to something wondrous and magical try Blind Willie Johnson's "Dark Was The Night, Cold Was The Ground". Check out Ry Cooder's version as well.

Thing with that when she does speak it has more meaning. Young lady say what you think how you feel that's what folks what to hear LIFE as it happens. Heck it's the world wide web if they don't like it they can change the channel. One more thing any negativity that is made in the comments DO NOT LET IT EFFECT WHO YOU ARE. Some people are just mean and nasty and hate life. They be Keyboard warriors say all that smack without having to get smacked in the mouth for saying it. Makes them BRAVE F em lifes to short to let someone else control your emotions
