In their pomp Led Zeppelin were a collection of 4 of the finest musicians in their fields of any generation. People will argue this point and it is only a widely held opinion. I don’t understand why so many people prefer their live over their studio. Yes, if you were lucky enough to see them live, that is an amazing experience. But their live stuff was never recorded as good as the studio stuff. A major part of what made Led Zepplin so great was the magic of Page as a producer. I have everything that has ever been produced on vinyl by Lee Zeppelin, and I do enjoy the live stuff, it just isn’t as technology good as the studio stuff.

Robert Plant, the singer, was so amazing in Led Zeppelin and his voice became the signature of their work. The guitarist is Jimmie Paige. He is arguably the best guitarist in rock. He changed so much in guitar in rock during his time with Zeppelin. Drummer John Bonham is the best drummer in rock ever. No one holds a candle to his work. He alone changed how drums were played and recorded. He brought the drums out from a weak background into the forefront and made people listen and respect the drums. He sadly died in 1980 from booze and Zeppelin broke up saying he could not be replaced and Zep was not the same without him.

Welcome to THE rock gods! The second biggest group in music history, after The Beatles! All 4 members are leading candidates for the title of GOAT on their particular instrument/s! Their debut album went top 10 in the UK, the US and all over the World. All (8) of their subsequent studio albums went to number 1 in both the UK, the US and all over the World. The one exception being 'Led Zeppelin IV' which 'only' reached number 2 in the US. As that album stayed in the charts for years, becoming their biggest selling US album and one of the biggest selling albums, worldwide, of all-time, I don't think they were too bothered! Even their live double album went to number 1 all over the World! They were legendary live performers, so if you think the vocals, guitaring and drumming were great here, you haven't seen or heard anything yet! They were to the 1970s what The Beatles were to the 1960s. They wwere an album band who didn't really do singles. Their record company released a handful of singles in other countries but they never released a single in their home country of the UK, where they had more control. Their catalogue is huge and hardly contains a single bad song, with half being bona fide classics! They just produced masterpiece after masterpiece! Easily one of the most innovative bands in history, they covered many genres and were trailblazers in many areas. Their influence is vast , with possibly only the Beatles being more influential. They also happen to be the most sampled group of all-time, so you may have heard snippets of their music, without realising it. Although not heavy metal themselves and although they hate it when people mistakenly label them as metal, they are, together with Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, called the 'Godfathers of Heavy Metal', as they laid much of the foundations for metal and their influence on that emerging genre was vast! They're one of the genuine, true giants of popular music and they still outsell 99.9% of today's artists! To see another side of them, I recommend checking out their performance of 'Since I've Been Loving You', live at Madison Square Garden in 1973. It's one of the greatest live performances of all-time! Link below. :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5irnZV-qcmJgrc

Jimi Page one of top 5 guitarists of all time😎 He played in Yardbirds with Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. Psychedelic Rock huge!!!!! Page played guitar with violin bow to create that screeching sound

Physical Graffiti, from beginning to end. It was Zeppelin at the peak of their power. Once you hear it, you'll never forget it.

John Bonham was a beast on drums. His death wrecked his friend Robert Plant, lead singer.

If you liked John Bonham's drumming here, you NEED to hear them do When The Levee Breaks -- their take on a late-1920s blues classic -- the original of which is also on KZbin.

And then slow it down half a note to reinforce the feeling of pending doom...

These musicians are absolutely top-notch. This production is some of their best work. Try "The Lemon Song" next, for more provocative material.

John Bohnam the drummer for Led Zeppelin is a Rock drummer God and is up there with best like Ginger Baker, Keith Moon and Neal Peart “The Professor”. All gone to soon but not forgotten. All four of these men were superb drummers and if you like great drummers listen to all four of them. Though if I was to suggest one to listen to next it would be Neal Peart with his band mates Rush playing Tom Sawyer. Next I would suggest Keith Moon with The Who” in BaBa O’Reiley. Then Ginger Baker with Cream playing “Toad”.

If you never heard of Led Zepplin, you should check out the bands of the 60's & 70's. All of the music from that time is totally amazing.
