Oh and as you already thought, Formalin are the two guys from the censorship police. They made the electronic Intro and the Outro of the song.

Picasso's quote at the beginning is a variation on The Treachery of Images, the1929 painting by Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte, more commonly known as Ceci nest pa's une pipe (this isn’t a pipe). In it, we see a pipe but it's not a real pipe, simply a painting of a pipe. As Magritte explained you clearly see it looks like a pipe but you can't fill it with tobacco & smoke it. My favourite Picasso painting is Guernica, his response to the bombing of Guernica, a small market town in the Basque region of Spain. During the Spanish Civil War it was an important site for the Basque people, the symbol of their cultural identity. On 26 April 1937, the German & Italian Air forces bombed Guernica on behalf of the right-wing Nationalists who were trying to overthrow the left-wing Republican government. It was market day & the place was full of children, woman & old people. They deliberately bombed in the late afternoon so children were not in school but in the streets. All the men were away fighting in the war, so it was a deliberate attack on civilians. The people were stuck in the town centre & couldn't escape because previous fighting had blown up roads & taken down bridges. The painting Guernica was done later that year, & Picasso toured with it to raise funds for the Republican armies. The painting is called Guernica, it represents what happened during the bombing of Guernica but it isn't actually the market town of Guernica. So it's a lie, a fabrication to depict the truth of what happened on 26 April 1937, a representation of the bombing of Guernica. That's how I view the Picasso quote at the start.

I trink the start quote is about that the most stories are fantastic not documentary (a lie). But reading, or hearing, or whatever - Could help you realize something Real about the Life.

Thank you for choosing one of "Lord of the Lost" 's songs once more. I really enjoyed how in depths you went in your thoughts about the song's lyrics, I had a similar reaction when I first discovered "Raining stars". To me "Art is the lie that enables us to see the truth" means that although art is created/isn't a true reflection of what reality is, it allows us to see the truth since it is the vessel of emotions. It is what connects us the most to what we feel deeply. And the video is a very good depiction of that quote. In this dystopian system, art was banished because the authorities of that world understood the power of emotions and wanted to deprive their people from that power. But, as you said, what is great with music is that we can all interpret it in different ways :-) and the same goes for music videos. I understood the lyrics for that song in a similar way as you did: "enjoy the beauty of the moment since everything can disappear from one second to another". I would also add "love (in a very wide way) is the only thing that truly matters in existence". When we know that we are going to die, many things become irrelevant to most of us, aside of loving and feeling loved one last time, no matter under which shape.

Happy to see someone else having the "LOTL revelation" due to "Raining stars" :-) That song is what helped me understanding that I found something special and shouldn't let it go.

@@ladytakarazuka Yes, they are really astounding and had taken over my musical life. I still listen to many other bands, and I love a lot of them. But when I go to bed, I am humming a LOTL song, and whe I wake up in the morning, it is another LOTL song. And always a different one. Ask me every 10 minutes, and I would answer with an other LOTL song as my favourite everytime. I had many bands in my life, that I was really hyped about at one moment or another, but never for such a long time and the hype is growing from day to day. This is a new experience for me, that I am having here with LOTL since almost a year now. Sad I didn´t dive in earlier, but infinite happy, that I did at last. The only other bands, I admire on a level almost that high, for many years are ASP, MUSE and Queen.
