Female bands have been rocking Japan since the 1980's when Show-Ya stormed the Boy's Club and allow all the other women to follow them in (Show-Ya is still kicking today !!!!). These insanely talented women have taken the glory of 80's metal mixed it with the masters and elevated it with their own unique style. They are awesome LIVE and have only been around since 2016. Asami/vocals never sang metal having come from a R n B/Jazz/Soul background and is an ex-ballerina student. Midori/Blond and Miyako/Black are the most dynamic dual lead tandem playing today especially LIVE. They are total opposites and yet blend together perfectly, Miyako also is a classical pianist and you will see those skills in several of their songs, Empty Daydream, Edge of the World, Swan Song with Chopin Etude intro and all done LIVE!!!!! Band Maid is a great rock band (Influences of Punk and Metal), but if you want Metal there is only one Lovebites. All petite models who turn into metal goddesses once they put on those white dresses and high heels (which they play in!!!). BTW Haruna the 4' 9" drummer and Akane/drummer of Band Maid are good friends. Great reaction, now the Wolf-Pack (Lovebites devoted fans) will be here to give you many more suggestions, it won't matter what you pick this band hasn't and can't produce anything but stunning music when they perform whether it is LIVE, Studio, MV or even an Anime Theme. Other bands....Mary's Blood, Nemophila, Aldious, Fate Gear, etc etc.... the rabbit-hole is deep and never ending!!!

after hearing a half dozen songs by them I bought all 3 Albums and their 3 main EP's and their Single EP just need to get all 3 live albums. Asami is great at singing in English. they formed in 2016 Miho the bassist and founder and Haruna the drummer and co founder were in the Japanese band Destrose together when it ended they recruited Midori on Guitars and Miyako on Guitars and Piano Asami was an R&B singer when they found her. Destrose is a band that ex members went on to form other more popular bands of late.

I did the same. I bought the three albums, the single, and their three EPs (the first I had to get digitally from iTunes), and I just recently got the Blu-rays and CDs for DotD and FoaK. My version of Clockwork Immortality came with a Blu-ray for Battle in the East, and I got two copies of Electric Pentagram, one with a DVD for their Wacken 2018 performance and the other with two CDs for the live show called Invitation to the Theater. I bought the beer glass, too, though I have yet to break it in. The only outlier I'm aware of is "Awake Again: Live from the Abyss," but we all know that'll be next to impossible to get as things stand right now.

Although there is male Japanese rock/metal bands and they are all good bands but it’s the female bands that have been gaining popularity as for LOVEBITES they are world class musicians who many listeners compare to the greats like Iron Maiden (witch you were spot on about), Judas Priest and even Dragonforce (witch LOVEBITES toured with btw) and as for rivalries not that I’m aware of most of the bands from Japan are extremely supportive of each other because unlike western bands or artists they have no egos. I would recommend the live music videos from Zepp Diver City and the Daughters of the Dawn concerts for their live performances and their official music videos are great to. Stay safe stay metal

All write the songs with Miyako (black hair guitarist) is the primary song writer with Asmai (singer) and Miho (bass) are the lyricists.When the is done , they send it to Finland for mixing and final production. They do it because they want an European sound. Per Miho; they wear white to be seen on the dark metal stages. There several hundred (or more) all female Rock/Metal bands in Japan with now. A short list Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Bridear, Aldious, Show Ya, Unlucky Morpheus and of Course The Queens; Babymetal. You got a lot of reactions ahead of you!!!1

I'm both a maidiac and a member of the Wolfpack. There are a lot of mutual fans of the two bands. And then there are those who like one or the other, which is cool. But they're both great at what they do. If I'm in the mood for metal, I listen to Lovebites. If I'm in the mood for hard rock, it's Band Maid. There's no rivalry between the bands themselves. There are photos floating around of the drummers of the two bands (Akane and Haruna) hanging out together. May I add a third all female Japanese suggestion?.......Nemophila!

There is no real need for competition between Band-Maid and Lovebites as they are playing different genres of music. They actually share quite a few fans though. Also the majority of bands is still male-dominated in Japan. The all-female music rabbit hole is big, but not really representative of the industry as a whole. Some notable ones include Crystal Lake, One Ok Rock, Galneryus, Loudness or X Japan.

As far as I know, there's zero rivalries between any of the Japanese rock/metal bands. Haruna, the drummer for LOVEBITES, and Akane, the drummer for BAND-MAID, know each other and have met at least once. They put out at least two pictures of themselves together. There's a picture of Ohmura from Babymetal's Kami Band with Miyako from LOVEBITES; the two were doing some sort of endorsement appearance (I think it was guitar strings, but I'm not sure). Miku from BAND-MAID has said that they respect Babymetal, but they don't see them as rivals because both groups do different things.

You could check also, "Unlucky Morpheus", like someone suggested. my other suggestion would be "Nemophila" (all female band!), and if you like a few year older bands, then try "Doll$Boxx" - this is wonderful Fuki, singer of the "Unlucky Morpheus" plus girls from "Gacharic Spin" band (suggest you live songs "Take a Chance" or "Dragonet" or MV "Shout Down"), or old version of band "Breadear" (let's say songs "Light in the Dark" or "Ignite")... Those some other "all girls" bands. They are few more, and I forget someone, for sure, but someone would add some more...

The third band, except for Lovebites and BAND-MAID that is usually named is Nemophila. They are equally good, in my opinion maybe better. They have one of the best drummers in Japan, Tamu, and then dual lead guitarists of very high quality, Saki and Hazuki. This band is more all round. They usually have five stringed base and seven stringed guitars tuned for drop D, so, whatever they play is a bit more heavier than the originals. They make lots of covers, but also have a quite good assortment of originals. Their singer is interesting. She has a raspy voice. Sounds very good. And she can scream! Some start with Dissension and love it, but it is very hard. And for some this is the first and only song they listen to. Personally I got into Nemophila via their covers - they are soooooo good! Almost all of them. But maybe Raitai, Adabana or Revive is a good start if you want originals. But, som days I only have a list of covers and listen for it all day. You cannot go wrong!

Of course - if you want a surprise regarding all female Japanese bands you might test Hanabie (pronounced ha-na-bee-eh). "Ha na bee eh des" means, we are Hanabie. They do not do English. And there are very scarce with translations. But they are dynamite! Here is a good list * We love sweets (The standard - best to start here) * Neet games * Pardon me, I have to go now * Ado You shall look at music movies to begin with. The live videos are a hit and miss. They are on a low budget, being rather small. But, of course, when you have decided to love them. Then you can look at anything star eyed. Ebven a video in a club with a potato as camera and carrot as microphone.

First of all thanks for the video. After the first few seconds of the song I became an instant fan. The only thing I didn’t like is the way they dress in all white, it’s a bit “gimmicky” for me.
