Marlena is a muse, representing passion, artistic inspiration, freedom of expression etc. He wrote her as a woman and in the form of a love song (she appears in a few others of their songs), but actually it's talking about how important finding the inspiration is. In the video you see Marlena coming to the ballerina and helping her to start dancing again.

There's a whole story and concept behind this song and the album it was on. But basically, the song is about losing your artistic inspiration and making a plea for it to return. ("Torna a casa" means "Come back home".) One way to interpret the video is that the injured or weakened dancer represents the band during a creative slump, and the second dancer represents the inspiration that gives them strength and brings back their creativity. There are four members of the band (vocal, bass, guitar, drums) and yes, they are amazing live.
