there is a really deep part of the song that is really hard to notice without a fair bit of context: so, first in case you didn't already know, her name Nanashi Mumei basically translated into english means 'Anonymous Nameless'. During the story 3 times, after the Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah,... chorus, she says her name Mumei in the verbal lyrics, but the english lyrics for the first two are 'I am without a name' and 'I am nameless'. but the third and final time she sings it near the end, instead the english lyrics are 'i'll keep going, as Mumei'. it's when she stopped being nameless, and took the name Mumei. i love it, becuase it is beautiful, but it is SO SUBTLE. and yes, somehow this song hits directly to the heart. i recommend giving gura's 'Reflect' a listen. there are two versions on her account, but they are the same song, just that one is the animated MV which came out later.
@RIANticsАй бұрын
(へ°-°)へ ┳━┳ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Oh. My. God. i did not know that. nether the name nor would i have gotten that... omg... regarding reflect. thats one of the few songs that i already know. and it is one of my absolute favorites. i like the duality and the inner fight with herself and her expectations so much. so, sadly no reaction for that one from me (regardless of reaction, i would like to forget this song and listen to it again for the first time. The same as with this one (from) mumei)

@@RIANtics Mumei's name is fully puns: "nanashi" could be broken down to read as "na nashi" or "not [having] name" despite being written as "seven poem/songs" and "mumei" could be read as "lack [of] name" (many of the Holomem names are puns, like Ina'nis's surname being "一”, which is "one", which comes before two, or "Ni no mae")

Bro gets it. The emotional resonance. The bittersweet. The swelling of the emotional tide. It makes you grasp for an explanation for why you feel so sad and yet uplifted at the same time. Like when you happycry at a video of an abandoned puppy being rescued and nursed back to health. The stark difference between the reality that someone would abandon a helpless animal, and the elation upon witnessing the basic goodness of someone acting to take care of another living being that another person considered to be the same as garbage. That's what this song makes me feel.

Arguably one of the best character pieces (IMO the single best) in Hololive. And one that always hits in the feels and makes me cry every time that I hear it. So somber and hopeful at the same time.

Her voice in the MV is very slightly filtered. During Holofes 5th she sang this song live - and her voice sounded almost exactly like the MV. But it was subtly different enough you could tell. It was amazing!!!

oh, thats cool. I really have to get all the concerts in the future.
@karactr8361Ай бұрын
Mumei even surprised Bae when she submitted her parts for Mind Craft. With zero filters or modifications her lyrics are deep, resonant and powerful. So, yes, she can do this without filters of any type.

another nice reactor found ... time to binge some videos also yes Mumei her song "mumei" brings across the feels of it even if you dont know or understand it, which is simply amazing also cant wait for you to discover the JP and ID side and songs they have no less good songs, you have enough for months if not years XD

haha, thank you so much. I would be happy if i can bring a little bit of the enjoyment what i get, when i watch reactors to you. on the ID side, i think the only thing i now of is moonas high tide (which is awesome both musically and the animation). So they are my next target after EN. As for JP... i'm struggling to watch them, as i'm not that big of a fan of J-pop and these fast-beat songs. So... don't know yet. :/

This song got me good when it came out. Many people (mysself included) get a Porter Robinson vibe from this song. I recommend "Mind Craft" on Bae´s channel. It´s a Holo EN group cover and displays some of the abilites of the girls (especially Mumei´s low voice).

Nice, a new holoreactor XD. Mumei case is very unique, she sure have the voice quality to do the jump and become a pro singer, if you compare the quality of her pre holo and early holo singing streams to 2024 the jump is quality is amazing. Now, she dont seems to be the kind of person that want that kind of spotlight but at the same time shes a chose a streamer life XD.. so i bet the urge to "sing" is there. Lets hope she find more time to develope her music career. The good thing about hologirls is that most of the times you can know the why and how their music came to be, Mumei have a few streams were she talk about this song and a few more were she more or less give us the backstory for this song. I recomend some of her karaoke covers, like sometimes she hit the notes and can take you to places XD but most of the times is her being mumei XD.
@RIANticsАй бұрын
oh, hi! you mean that she has archived this kind of voice and style over the span of her time in hololive? Thats impressive. mumei beeing mumei is something that i quite enjoy, but i wasn't interested in karaoke streams or the music, so it's really nice to discover something new about her. I will listen to some karaoke streams/clips in the future!
@jmdtaelonАй бұрын
@@RIANtics yes, kind of, i remember she mentioned recieved vocal classes in the 1st year in holo, it was long ago but it was more like a confidence in her own talent stuff, she was just shy and kind overshadow by Gura´s popularity, since they have similar tones, people compare them a lot. but Gura had lot more experience by then so it was narutal. Shes find her confort zone now and her karaokes are a blast of fun and sometimes masterpieces. example kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJK3eYWerpeMZ7s

Great reaction, Mumei is such an amazing song and Mumei herself is such an phenomenal singer! My suggestion for songs you should listen to as well are End of a Life of Calliope Mori and Ever Blue by Omaru Polka (Suisei, Towa, Bae, and Kiara all also have an amazing catalogue of songs)
@RIANticsАй бұрын
Thank you very much! End of a Life by Calli is a song that i enjoy. I've listened to that a long time ago, that's the reason why i will skip that. But i enjoy it a lot. Ever Blue is noted for the future :) I want to listen to them all. I'm almost done with recording all of Kiaras songs... as for Bae... she is more or less the reason i started this channel. I loved her songs and dancing and was annoyed that i did not have a reaction channel. So, yeah. I've heard and seen most of her stuff, so no reactions on that. :D

I feel like the song is about identity. Who you are, who she is and who we are. Mumei literally means "Nameless" so we have to identify with each other to know them.

Two things: the song title is all lowercase, and the emotion it evokes for me is ... aloneless? Or maybe it has some strange german name, that strange feeling when you are a little down, and you really just need a friendly face to talk to, and while you're not really depressed you're dejected and feel like you're alone. But of course you're not and that's also the resolution of the song
@RIANticsАй бұрын
it is... indeed... i've changed it in my title, thanks a lot! oh, so... when you have no friends around you, you are somewhere new (for example). I get what you mean, and that sounds like a very interessting emotion that this song invokes for you. I can absolutely understand that kind of feeling... sad times...

By the end the "mumei" is capitalised, indicating that she now has a name.. and in the translation Mumei is written instead of nameless.. that was very brilliant..
