Treach is SOOOO underrated. He was always one of my favorites back in the day. Not the first to do compound rhymes, but he made it mainstream and it blew my mind compared to the stuff I had been listening to like Beastie Boys or Run DMC who just rhymed at the end of the bar. Naughty By Nature has some other bangers like "Feel me flow", "Hip Hop Hooray" and "Yoke the Joker". There is an interview where Eminem credits Treach (especially on Yoke the Joker) as a big influence of his.

One of the truly great thing about the 90's that has been forever lost. there was no pocket culture, we had MTV, the school yard and magazines, so everyone was absorbing the same pop culture, everyone knew the slang, everyone knew the music everyone knew what was the "it" thing. it was a magical time when everyone was on the same page culturally. you said "you down with OPP?" every single person knew exactly what you were talking about

Contrary to his stage character and this song, Treach was married to Pepa from another classic group Salt-N-Pepa for like 10 years. There's always two sides to the story but I remember the media portraying Pepa as the crazy one. Slat-N-Pepa's "Push It" is another classic banger that everyone in the day knew the lines. Don't matter where you're at. You say "Push It" and someone will respond "Push it real good...dah, duh, dah, dah, dah, do, dah, dah"

@@flaquis2729 Nah, the songwriting/record producer team @Motown called "The Corporation" headed by Berry Gordy are the ones who received the publishing credit rights for allowing NBN to use the "Jackson 5 - ABC" music sample on OPP. Which they took 75% of the funds from publishing rights off the song OPP, not 90% my friend. The Jackson 5 & MJ himself had nothing to do with writing the song or lyrics to ABC. The Jackson 5 just recorded & performed the song. Sure they got paid off royalties they received on their version of ABC off the album. But MJ & the Jackson 5 didn't get paid a dime by NBN for any music sample on OPP. Just keeping it a buck here ya dig? ++Peace, Funk & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend++. 🤘😜🤘
