NightWish Army Wisconsin Chapter here. Being from United States, all I ever heard growing up was how great Eddie Van Halen was. He was great, but his Ego was bigger than his guitar playing. Randy Rhoads was always my favorite. But since I discovered NightWish, I hadn’t realized how many Gifted guitarists there are in the world. Not only is Empuu one of the best guitarists in the world, he has almost 0 ego. He doesn’t show off, he just provides what the song needs and nothing more. My NEW FAVORITE guitarist ❤

You hit the nail on the head. Emppu is greatness in how he makes the music instead of showing up in it. (I love Eddie, and Steve Vai, his mentor Joe Satriani, Cris Impellitteri, what have you, but style and composure is something you can't teach over technique. Hell I like the caveman Slash because his idiot solos are memorable.) Oh and all that said, do Nightwish' initial Gary Moore cover "Over the hill and far away" next! Not you but the OP. While I'm super curious, what is ever a hit in Wisconsin? It was an eye opener here in Finland. Like, this band might be on to something. (Despite the silly video.)

The drummer in this song is called Jukka Nevalainen. Unfortunately, he had to stop due to an illness. He has now been replaced by Kai Hahto also a very good drummer.

Nightwish is simply the best liveband ever, at least in my book. The stage presence of the whole band is amazing and they play so insanely tight and the mixing is superb. And Floor is truly a superstar. Imagine that she took over as lead singer mid tour only 10 months before doing this. And on top of that she had her career on hold due to a burnout and had almost lost her confidence as a vocalist. Then Tuomas calls her when she’s at her sisters wedding and asks her if she can learn the whole setlist and go on stage with them in Seattle 48 hours later. All of a sudden she’s just back and better than ever. This is nothing short of a miracle and her story has inspired me in my battle with my own burnout.

Let me help you... The Wacken Open Air Festival is in Germany. It's pronounced VAW-Kehn. Guitarist Emppu Vourinen is both well respected and underrated! His genius lies in his restraint. Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah) is a classically trained guitarist, *bassist, songwriter and talented vocalist both solo and in harmony. He has a high register that blends perfectly with Floor's voice. While he's left the band (early 2021), he's still a huge star with fantastic solo projects!

I have said this multiple times but, this song is Like a Coffee with Red Bull...On Steroids 🤘❤‍🔥🤘. The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classical trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast. Also Marko (Bass player) shines like a Viking god !!!! NWSU 🤘😎🤘.

Great reaction and yes, one of Nightwish's heavier songs. The heaviest? Master Passion Greed form the Dark Passion Play album. Never been played live and no official music video. Off the Dark Passion Play album, their first after they parted ways with their first singer Tarja Turunen. Part of the break up trilogy of Poet and the Pendelum (Tuomas's masterpiece where he mines his depression from the fans hatred of him for firing Tarja, my favorite Nightwish song), Bye, Bye Beautiful (farewell to Tarja), and Master Passion Greed. The song is the bands big FO to Tarja's husband and manager who the band blamed for destroying the relationship between her and them. Drummer here is their first, Jukka, who unfortunately had to step down from touring due to chronic insomnia but still an active and improtant part of the band's management team. Empuu can definitely shred when needed. Checkout his virtuosic playing in their tribute to Pink Floyd while performing High Hopes at the End of an Era concert.

It's vah-ken not wacken. It's in Northern Germany. The drummer is Jukka (you-ka) this is pretty much one of the last concerts he did. He retired in early 2015 due to health issues. His friend Kai Hahto took over. Jukka works behind the scenes now. Marco left I. Jan. 2021.

They were the showstopper from Wacken Festical. In the Netherlands we also have a big Metal festival, and Metallica played before nightwish, since they again were the showstopper. Yes I was here In Wacken. In Europe everything is close , Wacken is a 3 hour drive for me from Holland. Paris 5 hours. I saw Nightwish several times, last time was 6 weeks ago with my teen daughter , who is also crazy about them. The sound in Amsterdam was just as good as in Wacken, they REALLY are THAT good Life, insanely good.I love them live more than in studio....Metallica hear rather studioversions LOL There are a lot more heavy songs like this sir. What I love is that they have parts in their music pieces, one part can be so emotional with Floor singing full opera while the second part is heavier than trash-proggressive metal, Like "the greatest show on eart" about the Big Bang, the evolution of Earth and the rol men plays on earth. Master piece.

Nightwish are most often the top name of the day or festival - but this year, they were actually followed by Metallica, on one of the festivals (James Hetfield was actually on the Nightwish stage to watch - and he was impressed, to put it mildly). On the Wacken 2013, they were headlining and closing the Festival, and they played right after Alice Cooper, if I remember correctly.

heey boss, love your reactions, if you havn't reacted to "the greatest show on earth" by Nightwish, you really need too, it may have a slightly pretentious title but it is among one there best songs.... or performances, you need to see it to understand. I would recommend the one from tempere, but any version is absolutely epic.
