When my adult kids discovered him on their own, they were blown away that he's the guy who sang "Return to Pooh Corner". That song was such a big part of their childhood.

I have been a Kenny Loggins fan from the time he got his start, from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Loggins & Messina, to his solo career and I have always loved him, his talent is extraordinary, he does it all! Singer, song writer, musician, performer. We don't have talent like him anymore. We were so blessed back in the day to have people like him. This performance was something very special.

Kenny also sang the theme song, Danger Zone, for the movie Top Gun. He and Steve Perry, former lead singer of Journey, did a duet called “Don’t Fight It”. This song was written by Kenny, Steve Perry, and Dean Pitchford. Another great song. One of my most favorite songs from Kenny is “House at Pooh Corner”. He wrote this song during his senior year in high school at the age of 17 as he contemplated his impeding adulthood. Love this song!

I love him. I have a 15-track CD of his, and this song is #14, and I have a funny short story about it. I played it when I got on a plane heading home at 5:05am in Las Vegas. My parents and I had been stuck at the airport for 9 hours, with our original flight being delayed until it was finally canceled. Before that, our earlier connecting flight was delayed, too. Before that, there was a storm in Michigan, so the airport got us a taxi to drive us to Chicago to catch the connecting flight. I fell asleep on the plane home while listening to the songs. When we were landing, I woke up to "Celebrate Me Home" beginning to play!

Kenny Loggins career has lasted almost longer than any other musician I can think of. Besides all the exceptional music on his albums, and soundtrack compositions (Caddyshack, Footloose, Danger Zone for top gun to name a few), the number of iconic songs throughout the decades, makes him one of the greatest musicians in modern memory!

I saw him in concert at my University in October of 1982 for the Home Coming Concert (New Mexico State). The arena held 15 thousand and there were only 2500 there, he called those in the nose bleed section down, and chased security away. Then he did an over twenty minute rendition of this song. From here to Pooh Corner, to I'm Alright, to Danger Zone, to Footloose, and Your Moma Don't Dance.

Seeing him live is a treat. Seeing him live with Michael McDonald was just outstanding. It was a small place called Gathering on The Green in Mequon, Wisconsin a few years ago. You just have to get into his catalog. And don't miss out on his song "House On Pooh Corner" for which he needed very special permission to record after writing it. You might want your kids to listen along too.

Kenny’s duet with Stevie Nicks “Whenever I Call You Friend” is a great tune. Stevie said that he pushed her nearly to the point of quitting to get the vocals he wanted from her. Listening to the song, it’s hard to argue that it is technically about the best we’ve ever heard Stevie sing. Kenny, of course, sings pretty much everything to perfection.

This is from Kenny's concert on the rim of the Grand Canyon (1992), but by the time he sang this song the sun had set so you can't see the glorious scenery. Great concert. It was filmed (entirely?), and much (or all?) of it is avail on YT. In 1993, he did his amazing concert Outside From the Redwoods (of northern California), which was equally fantastic and beautiful. One of my favorite Kenny songs is from that concert: Leap of Faith. You can find it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6fLh4adpsx0q5Isi=Az8GSdpv0uhCQXsQ. Leap of Faith from the Grand Canyon concert is also good -- a little different -- and I can never decide which is better, but I love the guitar solo by Chris Rodriguez so the Redwoods version gets the edge. Anyway Kenny is always phenomenal. He also always had great percussionists, who were always a lot of fun to watch -- the busiest musician on stage at a Kenny concert, LOL! Please do more Kenny, especially live. BTW, other movie hits he's known for, besides Footloose, include Danger Zone from Top Gun, and I'm Alright from Caddyshack.
