As a french guy, i would say, NOOOOO😂! I HATE YOU😂✌️(i'm jaleous in fact)....But, we beated you at Twickenham 2 weeks ago, so it's ok😂....BUT, YES, THE CAMERA, FILMING BEHING THE AMPS, WITH "PINK FLOYD LONDON", WITH THAT FUNKY RYTHM, IT'S SUPER COOL! It reminds me JIMI HENDRIX, at WOODSTOCK, and ISLE OF WIGHT, you can see the name on the amps, like that! It's so cool.... ( i think, as they're were, always, playing in festivals, or with 1st part's bands, that's why they had to write the name on the amps, because, a lot of bands were using the same amps, i worked as a roadie too😂)....I, only, saw PINK FLOYD (without Waters), once, in my town STRASBURG, FRANCE, in 1994, during the PULSE TOUR....UNFORGOTTABLE! MAGIC! Peace from France ✌️

The guitar player is the legendary David Gilmour. He also sings lead vocals on many of their songs, as well. He returned to Pompeii (as a solo artist) in 2016, 45 years after this recording, and performed a concert in front of an audience. It's on a DVD (David Gilmour, Live in Pompeii 2016) and is amazing. If you react to more Pink Floyd, I suggest checking out their live performance of 'Comfortably Numb' from the Pulse concert in 1994 (in particular, I suggest you look up the Restored and Re-edited version). It will blow your mind.

"Live at Pompeii" was recorded in the Roman arena in the city of Pompeii, Italy. The entire concert is dedicated to the inhabitants of Pompeii, killed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. That's why there is no audience but only musicians, cameras and sound engineers. Many images evoke the ancient catastrophe and associate the most experimental sounds with the power and destruction emanating from the volcano and nature in general. This is with regards to the musical documentary from which this piece is taken (documentary that contains curiosities, short interviews and moments of the band's life during the filming).

"Echoes" is a song by English rock band Pink Floyd, and the sixth and final track from their 1971 album Meddle. It was written in 1970 by all four members of the group. Containing several extended instrumental passages, ambient sound effects, and musical improvisation, "Echoes" has a running time of 23:31 and comprises the entire second side of the vinyl and cassette recordings.

Pompeii is an ancient city in southern Italy that was destroyed by the volcano Vesuvius in 79 AD. They said “No one flies around the sun.” Nick Mason is the drummer in Pink Floyd. David Gilmour is the guitarist and main vocalist. Roger Waters on bass and main lyricist. Rick Wright on keyboards/synths and vocals.

This was filmed live in the amphitheater at Pompeii (no crowd, just crew) for release in cinema’s in U.K. Pompeii was a Roman town near what is now Naples on the coast of Italy. In AD 79 the nearby volcano Mt Vesuvius erupted and completely buried Pompeii and Herculaneum under 15 metres of volcanic rock/ash. It was forgotten about until accidentally discovered about 150 years ago, and has since been excavated. I was 14 when this was filmed in about 1972 and I went to see it at the cinema at the time ( I’m 63 now) it was a Sunday night showing one night only…. I was mesmerised and love it to this day, Meddle is my favourite Pink Floyd album. I have visited Pompeii and Herculaneum recently and even climbed Vesuvius and peered in ! It’s fascinating and well worth the visit

This was the main line up:- Roger Waters - Bass / Vocals / Lyrics Dave Gilmour - Lead Guitar / Vocals Richard Wright - Keyboard / Vocals Nick Mason - Drums (Roger didn't sing on this one) Dave Gilmour had replaced one of the founding members Syd Barrett who had dropped out of the band suffering Mental Health issues and the effects of drug abuse. Many of Floyds later songs reference back to Syd and the problems of Mental Health. Syd was dearly loved and missed but had become completely unreliable, even playing different songs mid session live on stage. Check out both "The Dark Side of the Moon" & "Wish you were here" albums and you'll get many references to Syd.

Take a listen to their track "Biding My Time" off their 1971 album Relics .... I can only describe in 2 words.... swanky and spicy 😉😏 The album also includes a previously unreleased studio recording of a Roger Waters composition, "Biding My Time". The song, originally titled "Afternoon”, had been heard by live audiences as part of the Man and the Journey concert sequence. Following the sessions for Ummagumma, it was reworked as "Biding My Time", before being held over for two years until the release of Relics. Unusually, Wright plays trombone on this track.

Thank you for doing this reaction. There are some other Pink Floyd songs you could react to. "Dogs" is another long one but it's really a great tune you won't even notice that 17 minutes have gone by. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I - V)" That one is 15 minutes and is top shelf stuff. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI-IX)" is about 13 minutes and is just as amazing as the first part, if not a smidgen better. Those are some of the long tunes. For something shorter, try "Comfortably Numb" first the studio version, then there is a live version at a "Pulse Concert 1994" easily found on You Tube. That has the most amazing guitar solo at the end. Some even dare to say that it is "The Guitar Solo" So there's five things you could check out.
