The song is nothing but that riff is the killerest riff that ever riffed (there's a reason DeMartini is playing it over and over in the song). Distinct memory: walking into Guitar Center in the mid-80s and every stringy-haired dirtbag teenager in the place was playing this riff (incorrectly). I was buying strings at the counter, looked at the aggrieved clerk, and said, "Lay it Down, eh?" His reply was the deepest sigh I ever heard in my life. 🤣

When Ratt emerged out of the L.A. scene in 1984/ '85, they were fresh, energetic and fun... the girls loved them and the guys thought they were cool. But on top of that, they had simple songs w/ hooks and melodies & choruses which could stick in your head. They got big so fast (after years of playing clubs) and even Bon Jovi and Poison opened for them early in their career. Besides Ratt fans, many don't recognize the name of Ratt founding guitarist Robbin Crosby. He passed away in 2002 after battling heroin addiction and AIDS, but he was a remarkable riffmaster back in the day. Years before Cardi B, Ratt had this album in 1985 titled "Invasion of your privacy"... 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Unfortunately they didn't make it, but my dad was the singer to this band called Black Rayn and they once opened for Ratt at the Hard Rock Cafe. Love them as well you guys. Let's Go! ✌️💚💪

I have seen ratt twice growing up in the 80's. as a guitarist Warren D. Martini was one of my favorite players. I still have two of his stainless steel picks he played that i caught at those concerts. we (friends)would always look to see what side of the stage his gear was at and live in front of that side of the stage 😂 my God the room was Electric.

This may be the most well written song of Hard Rock history. I took this song to my music teacher in college. After listening to it about 3 times…he commented that this band was indeed different then most of the other bands in that era. Extremely talented he said.

when they came to the arena near me back in the 80's, they sold out fast. everyone at school was talking about the upcoming concert. . this was one of my favorites by them. i wasn't able to get tickets, til a kid i barely knew aproached me at my locker..."can't go...two tickets ...$40. want em?" Hell yeah i do!! got off the bus, told my dad i got tickets!! an hour or so later a knock on the door. a friend of my dads, that he hadn't seen in 30 years, and his son, a classmate of mine. short and skinny...kid was smart enough to write down the serial numbers of the tickets before he brought them to school. i had boughten stolen tickets. i never got to go...the 4 of us paid a visit...i got my money back...

I saw them in concert in 86’ when this album came out. They had a very little heard of & up & coming band called Bon Jovi open for them. The following year Bon Jovi released Slippery When Wet & well, the rest is history. Bon Jovi became the biggest band in the world & Ratt was an afterthought.
