James Arthur is a genius. He won 2012 uk X factor and has had many struggles his whole life that he puts into his music with such emotion. Watch him on the X factor singing no more pain , he sings with his heart.

Amanda, this man is the greatest artist on the planet for me. This song became my anthem. I can’t relate to the addiction side of things, but I just went through a recovery from depression rock bottom. Major breakdown that took me out for the better part of a whole year. This song helped me out of it

"Train Wreck" and "Avalanche" are James' best songs referring to Mental Health.

Yes! Trainwreck live is incredible. Really showcases his voice and his ability to emote

I love James' voice because it lends itself to the pain - I feel, but his pain. He has had many battles of his own. Impossible was the song he sang when he won X Factor and for me that is such a powerful pain filled song. He actually has a song called Suicide. xx

This is one of the first songs I heard right after I found out I had End Stage Renal Disease (kidneys no longer work.) I stumbled across the song and it just seemed like the perfect song at the moment because I was trying to figure out what changes need to be done for me to get closer to a transplant. One was too loose weigt before I could be considered for a transplant. Unfortunately I've had setbacks of depression and other health issues add too everything. But as I tell my sis, even when you get knocked down remember...crawling is still moving forward.

Thank you for sharing. People always look for a quick fix or success on the first try. But each try and each step brings us closer than we were before. If you look at the destination, it can be intimidating. Just focus on a single step.

You only fail when you stop trying. Maybe that is an empty sentiment but it's not meant that way.
@davidgaps65892 жыл бұрын
@@stevendolangitano4life301 That is 100% correct. We are humans, flawed and imperfect. Through only luck do we succeed on the first try at anything. Failure is a part of the learning process, and what helps us grow. So, don't think of it as a failure, just not achieving success yet. Yet.

Recovery means that you're on a path to improvement. Personally I've been suffering from depression and suicidal ideations. Never had substance addictions so can't say how hard it is to cope with the need for that but when depression hits it's all consuming and I promised to reach out when it becomes more than I can handle. In other words it means that I'm struggling internally and not sharing the depth of pain that I'm feeling as long as I'm not in immediate danger. I can relate to the struggle, to the need to not give in to temptation and let go. But without having an outlet to the struggle, pain and frustration it gets devastating.

There used to be a term called Masked Depression. Some sufferers try their best to interact when they have to and it is totally exhausting which is one reason I have chosen to live like a hermit at the moment. I don't share my depression or look for help because for the most part people just either do not get it, or take a step back.

Here is another thing you will love about Tom Macdonald. He is very passionate about supporting US veterans. Through hangover gang he sold lots of merchandise like shirts and copies of album The Brave and 72000 dollars was donated to a charity that helps support veterans in ways such as housing, mental health and others. The military is something I can imagine you and Tom talking about at great length, I can already see you telling him about your dad serving in vietnam.

Damn. That's insane. 3 whole days huh? I should've waited to comment. I've designed my recovery. None of us have the same issues, and what have you. What we can do is tailor a suggestion or a piece of information from others. We take what works, and we don't worry about it if it doesn't work.

As positive as this message is, we have to accept that many don't recover or heal 😪 Is it ok to to accept that you won't recover and to embrace the inevitable?
@MentalAmanda2 жыл бұрын
I believe that everyone has the power to recover, BUT I think we should always honor where we are in our journey. Push yourself forward while loving yourself where you are.

Hey Amanda, if you're interested in metal music react to Hell Patrol by Judas Priest. It's a little bit older metal, came out in 1990.
