A Renegade is a rebel, and that's what this song is about, Eminem was so controversial back then as you've seen, kids loved his songs, but their parents hated that fact because his songs had alot of obscenity, vulgarity and hate, of course that's what slim shady is all about, Jay on the other hand was criticized for not having great substance in his bars so this song is their response to all the hate they got, and embracing it as the chorus says. This was initially an Eminem song fting Royce but was given to jay for his 'blueprint' album fting Eminem this song is historical because alot of people started saying em washed jay on the song, Nas used it as an ammo against jay In their legendary battle hence the line "Eminem murdered you on your own shit" lol.😂😂
