He was a boy with cancer and Taylor followed his Mother Maya’s blog. She was so moved by her blog that she wrote this song and listed Mom as the co-writer because a lot of the phrases came from that blog. She sang it for the first time at Stand Up 2 Cancer and proceeds from the song go to cancer research. Taylor and the family got very close and when she re-recorded her Red album, she put the song on there which is why it says Taylor’s version. Anyway…still cry no matter how many times I hear it!

Ronan... Well ladies ... Thanks to you I will be hearing Taylor Swift for the 1st time... of course I have known about her for a long time. Just never took the time to hear one of her songs. This is such a beautiful song and i realized where it was going. It is hitting me as hard as Eric Clapton's ... "Tears In Heaven"...Over 20 years ago my 3 month old grandson suddenly died. It still bothers me to this day. I stopped where you did but i will have to finish it later.

The Taylor's Version label means it was a song she recorded when she was with her first label; that label kept ownership of the master (original) recordings. When the company was bought by someone Taylor despised, she started recording everything she'd ever done, so there would be an option for listeners (and radio stations) to use her new audio instead of paying to use the older versions. (She also had songwriter's copyrights; she exercised those to prevent them from using her old audio for ads or movies). So far, the new versions (which include music she did not release in the past) have sold very very well; and her voice has improved as well (she used to have an eating disorder, now she's a lot healthier).

"Taylor's Version" means it is from the rerecorded version of her earlier albums that was sold away from her. She rerecorded them to own the rights for the songs. I think she only played the song two times live, on a cancer charity event and at a show where Ronan's mother was in the crowd. You can hear her struggle getting through it in the studio recording.

Taylor came across a blog written by Maya, Ronan’s mom. She used some of what was in the blog to write this song. She sang this during the Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser. Maya is credited as a cowriter on the song. I do know she sang this song when her tour went through Maya’s city.

Remember EVERY time someone listens to this song the charity in Ronan's name gets money. It is good to listen to it on low so you don't cry, then do something so you don't get upset. That is after you have watched the video at least once or listen to it when you need too. It is nice you can contribute to a charity for cancer patients and their families without it costing you anything.

This song isn’t actually 2 years old. It’s 12 years old, it was released in 2012 on her 4th album, Red. In 2020 she started re-recording all of her first 6 albums, becuase her record label screwed her over to where she basically doesn’t own any of the music from her first 6 albums. So, she has re recorded “fearless”, “speak now”, “red”, and “1989”. If there is a (Taylor’s version) beside it means it was re recorded. There are also songs in her (Taylor’s version) albums that have (from the vault). If the song says (from the vault) it means it was a song that she recorded and was gonna put on the album, but she didn’t think it was good enough and didn’t put it on the album.
