Interestingly though, only the first few verses from the freestyle is in Thou Shall, it’s clever from Royce, I think this freestyle dropped around the same time as his album and it was a nice way to plug it without outright doing so. The universal love people have for that freestyle is staggering though, Cartier should defo check it out!

His best one is the LA Leakers one. This one is punchline rap but y’all won’t get most of the references because you’re too young. Even in the beginning when he said “riding with the k solo, I’m spellbound” k solo had a song called spellbound that came out in 1990. There is a lot of references in here like that. He says a lot of stuff in here you’d only get if you’re like 30+. His LA leakers one is more in line with black thought’s with the advanced bars. This one is still really good though.

I'm so happy yall realized the difference between older rappers and most of these new rappers. And there are a lot of different rap types. Storytellers like Meek Mill and Dave East. Glamour rappers Gucci Mane. Who spit mainly about materialistic stuff. Lyrical rappers obviously like Eminem and Nas who get technical with schemes, flows and wordplay. Conscious rappers like Nas and J. Cole who tackle life issues etc. Freestyle rappers. Battle rappers who focus on punchlines. It's a lot. And very few have 4 or more of these traits within their arsenal
