What world did you live in? Most women, especially women of color had to work at menial jobs just to keep the household afloat. The idea that women could stay home and let the man bring home the money was a white driven ideology where white women could stay home and play bridge while the women of color and poor white women needed to work.

It was much harder for a black man to be a breadwinner, if even employed. Women today don’t have the same values or beliefs as women from that area. you stated that you were raised to believe that a man needs to be the one to get it done.
