metal concert crowds are honestly the best and safest of any genre i’ve been to. everyone watches out for each other and helps when you need it. we’re a family and generally act like it 😊 slipknot is one of the nicest crowds i’ve ever been in out of a ton of metal shows. seeing them again next year at this same festival, actually.

This is honestly so true. I've been to many metal shows and in a ton of mosh pits and the only time I was ever injured was when I took a boyfriend to Killswitch Engage. He had never been in a pit before and I explained to him that the goal wasn't to hurt others the way it looks, just let loose and have fun. Immediately when we went in, he elbowed me right in the throat. Those around us were like WTF and got him and I both out safely. Needless to say, he's an ex for a reason. Also, the lead singer of KE at the time was a POC, Howard Jones

So true, I tell people all the time want to go make some friends, go to a metal show alone. I had a friend that used to run a small live music venue that catered to all genres. He would say give me a metal crown any day of the week, nicest people. Every time they had a big country music crowd: fights and rude people.
@tnightwolf

Metal and Rock crowds are the best! Many people are wasted (not all), but the last thing the very vast majority of people that go to a Rock or Metal concert/festival want, is to start any kind of trouble instead of just having a good time! XD

100 pct, I've seen Slipknot twice and Corey reminds the crowd that they are all family and to pick up anyone that falls in the mosh pit. Everyone is always nice at them, I've legit never had more people say sorry for bumping into me than at a Slipknot concert.

A live Slipknot show in 2001 is what actually got me into metal. I grew up as a 90s hip-hop kid in upstate NY. In college, I asked a friend of mine what he wanted for his birthday. He asked me to pick up a ticket to a concert with him and humor him. Mudvayne Disturbed Linkin Park Papa Roach Slipknot I've now seen them a handful of times live. They put on a hell of a live show. Definitely recommend checking out the studio versions of these songs too though so you can kind of appreciate them in that element too.

I initially only thought of Slipknot at face value back in day: Words I couldn't easily pick out and instruments that were seemingly chaotic. Once I dug a little deeper I really grew to appreciate them; their concerts are massive shows, their lyrics are poetic in a wide variety of ways, and their music videos are cinematic. Suggestion for another crowd-crazy concert by a different band: Metallica, live in Seattle, 1989 (you might want the lyrics for it).

One of my favorite bands ever. Their consistent wall of sound is absolutely beautiful but their softer sides are also so well executed and produced really well. Would love to hear anything more from them honestly.

You have to adapt to the music to start making out the lyrics. It takes a while to start understanding without lyrics pulled up. Some of there stuff is more mellow and easier to understand. Definitely check out more from them.

1st, my wife is black and loves Slipknot. We are both 58 yrs old. We have seen Slipknot in concert 17 times. One of the best live shows ever. I fact 2019 was the first time I crowd surfed. Friday night Slipknot headlined at the 3 day Louder Than Life music festival in Louisville KY. Lost a brand new pair of 400.00 prescription glasses, but it was worth it. Saw them again at the same festival this past September. You really need to go down this rabbit hole !!!!

There's been a long running friendly feud between Slipknot and Mushroomhead... Not sure why because they are both great and different... But you should give Mushroomhead a try too... Start mellow and do Solitaire Unraveling...

This footage of "Spit it out" is good but you really should have watched the video that was filmed at Ozzfest in the late 90's. SlipKnot is an amazing group and I am NOT saying they've lost themselves by any means, but for a truly INTENCE experience! Their Ozzfest debut is RAW and almost savage.

This is the song that introduced me to Slipknot in 1999 when their first album came out. Such a badass song! You should listen to the studio version with the lyrics handy.

Recommend watching Corey Taylor covering Prince at First Avenue. 4/21/16. This the same night the day Prince died. His acoustic one man cover of Purple Rain and Little Red Corvette. Btw Corey is lead singer of slip knot.

LISTEN / REACT TO CAMBATTA - GRAND NUMBER THEORAM (GNT 1;1) would be the first song I reccomend listening to, or Camballah Vol. 1 Album.... Cheers! P.S. seen Slipknot 3x in concert, amazing experience away from the mosh pits, lol... cheers! P.S.S Joey Jordison (R.I.P.) Drum Solo at the Disasterpieces concert is a good one to also react too, he spins on a pentagram platform at a 90 degree angle for like 5 mins if i remember right video from 06/07.., Blxssings! P.S.S.S. still watching and never mind you got the solo although this is the one after his iconic performance. anyway thank you, til next time!

To be fair, this was not in America. You will certainly find black people in the crowd at any U.S. Slipknot concert. Can’t speak for other countries.

I can’t speak for England shows, but I went and saw them in ‘21 in Iowa at my first and last festival, and then this year in Kansas City. There are a lot of black metal heads at all those shows I’ve been to. I’m 50 now. The festival was great and sucked all at once. I’m not made for standing for 11 hours anymore. Kansas City was awesome because it was in an amphitheater and it had seats. When we “got down” there, I just sat on the back of the seat. My knees wouldn’t allow me to get down for real.

Hey Polo, just discovered your channel and loving your content and the fact you're going outside of your comfort zone to discover new music. BTW YOU OWE ME A DOLLAR!!! I'm a 52 yr old black man and I was in the crowd at this very concert! P.S. check out the band GODSMACK...you won't be disappointed, you'll recognize their music as those songs on those U.S. Navy commercials 🤣

Recommend: Duality Psychosocial Sulfur Disasterpiece (live London) People = shit (live London) Before I Forget Dead Memories All of these have great music videos to watch. The studio version of Spit It Out is easier to understand the lyrics, and the video is a mix of band performing with a funny homage to “The Shining”. Enjoy!!

For a different side of Slipknot, I’d highly suggest you watch the video for “Snuff” it’s amazing! Also check out Corey Taylor’s other band Stone Sour. I’d suggest the acoustic version of “Song #3”

Listen to Duality by Slipknot next, either read the lyrics in advance or have them up while you listen!! Idk how old ya are man, but it really is an experience everyone should have, I have seen Slipknot 4 or 5 times. They never ever disappoint. If you can go see them when they come near you, if your lucky they'll be in a stadium, and you can buy seats instead of being in GA. It is so worth seeing. Me and my Now Fiance went to see them at their festival KnotFest, it was spectacular.
