Welcome to Sohayng's world. This is a very emotional Korean song about the longing they have for the North and South to be one again. Based on a very old folk song this is a modernized version written by a man who had to leave two adult children behind in North Korea. Sohyang has been singing for about 25 years, nearly as long as Dimash has been alive. She isn't well known because she is an independent artist. She has turned down all large labels due to her health (she is a cancer survivor) and her faith (she is a dedicated Christian) Sohyang is well loved and respected in Korea and by all of us overseas fans.

There is just no better female singer alive. She is a gospel singer and devout Christian. She has sang with Michael Bolton, Josh Groben, and did a concert with David Foster. So she is not unknown, and has a huge following. If you choose to go down this rabbit hole, you will be amazed!

Thanks for your reaction of SoHyang! Have I heard of her- Hell Yeah!! I have been following her for almost ten years now! She does do a lot in English too and her English is fantastic! This Lady can sing anything , Jazz ,Rock, Pop even heard her do some Rap ! She is a Christian Gospel Singer! She has turned down politely , many of the major Record Companies as well as many Asian Record Companies because she likes to do what she likes as far as Performances go and must have time for her Gospel Ministry and Charity work! This one is a Gem talent wise and in her Character !

She pronounces her own name So HYUNG. So that A is said like a U, and the h sound goes right with the Y. It’s not HI it’s just hyung, or hyoung. SoHyung is how it is pronounced.
