Stevie Ray & Jeff Healey, RIP to both, Jeff being blind was amazing but both were Great Guitarists and Stevie found Jeff. Tommy Shannon (78) was on Bass & Chris Layton (68) on Drums, if you want to see Stevies flawless Guitar change in the middle of "Little Sister" live Austin City Limits 1989

Jeff Healy was used to braille. Playing and interacting with the guitar like as if it were in braille... brilliant and very natural for him.

@@rebeccamcvey8600 Girl, my DVD got destroyed a few weeks ago. I went to pull a Johnny Winter CD from between a Ryan Upchurch CD and a Janis Joplin's CD and the Albert King CD hit the floor and broke into three pieces. I'm devastated LOL

I loved what you said about the guitar becoming an extension of the person playing. You are absolutely right when it comes to SRV. When he and Jimmy were growing up, he would actually sneak into Jimmy's room, grab his guitar and hide in the closet to play it. I think there are some people that are just destined to be amazing at certain things and SRV was definitely destined to be the guitar god that he was.

I agree with that! Some people are literally BORN to be great at a particular thing. One of my Nephews has been keeping a beat since before he could speak. The kid would drum on anything available. By the time he was five, he was a brilliant drummer already!! It was SO COOL watching him develop his obsession!! 🥰❤️‍🔥

Stevie... I only got to see him in concert once, Sacramento, CA, 1981,82? Ended set with Voodoo Child, he was/ is my favorite guitarist,...not familiar with Jeff Healey, I am now, thanks for that! Someone mentioned SRV in session with Albert King 💙?, Born Under A Bad Sign & Don't Lie To Me.... 💙 💙 💙 SRV & Double Trouble, best concert ever...hope you feel better soon & thanks again.

When stevies guitar starts to wail there's no denying who's playing, such a unique true sound. There are many guitar players with there own sound but Stevie on another level. If you want to hear another side of Stevie listen to life by the drop, very beautiful

Try one of Stevie Ray Vaughan's live versions of Couldn't Stand the Weather. Unbelievable. For Jeff, his 1995 live performance in Germany of As the Years Go Passing By is unforgettable, bluesy and raw.

Both awesome players! Enjoyed your enthusiasm. Appreciating the guitar is just about learning it's language, the more you listen the more you hear the stuff you missed early on. When I was a keyboard player in my teens I looked down on guitar, but now it's completely switched. There's so much organic voice to the guitar, so much you can do with it. Another blind guitarist, criminally underrated and practically unknown is Hiroaki Tagawa, plays the same as Healy with the hand over the neck instead of under. Worth looking him up, especially the songs performed live with drummer Senri Kawaguchi. High end stuff. Great reaction man!!

SRV grew up in Oak Cliff. South side of Dallas. He sat on many black folks porches and learn from a lot of black people that knew how to play the guitar.

*Not knowing Jeff was blind is understandable* After briefly speaking with Jeff in a bar on Vancouver Island, Canada I still hadn't realized he was blind; and Jeff knew I didn't so he had fun messing with me. It wasn't until noticing his band mates smirking at me from behind him that tipped me off.
