RiP Quentin Crisp,a persecuted English gay man who moved to New York in his 70s, he's included in the video and the song is about him.

Sting started out as a member of The Police. When he went solo, his group was initially comprised of jazz musicians (Bransford Marsalis on sax, Omar Hakim, Kenny Kirkland, Darryl Jones). Great reaction.

This is without a doubt one of my favorite songs in the world. Sting had a phenomenal career with The Police and then went out on his own. Could not love this song More.

He had some dynamite jazz musicians in his band Bradford Marsalis on sax and Kenny Kirkland on piano who played with Miles Davis,

The elderly guy in the video, is Quentin Crisp, a man who suffered dreadful persecution when trying to live his young life as a gay man in a bigoted era. The song is really a tribute to Crisp. The great Branford Marsalis playing soprano saxophone, brother of the equally great trumpet player, Wynton Marsalis.

Sting is the leader singer from The Police and then went solo. He has done sooo many genres-one of the things that makes him exceptional! Please also respond to Shape of My Heart, Fortress Around Your Heart, I Burn For You (live version), and Everybody Laughed But You, Mad About You, History Will Teach Us Nothing, Island of Souls, Inside, Book of My Life, Fragile, All This Time (just a few faves!)

Always loved Sting even from his days as a member of the rock group "The Police". His song 'Sister Moon' is my favorite recording by him! Sting's haunting delivery, beautiful lyrics, and that soul-stirring horn make the song so memorable! Englishman in New York has always been one of the Sting songs I've played consistently over the years.

Sting has such a wonderful Solo career, Juice Wrld used his “shape of my heart” for Lucid dreams. Also, check out “Fragile” I think it’s his most beautiful song, wonderful guitar work.

Great reaction! When Sting decided to go solo and do jazz, he recruited most of Wynton Marsalis band including his brother Branford. This caused a major riff between the two brothers and the jazz community. At the time Wynton was the voice of jazz and wanted to keep it traditional. This project opened the door for other jazz cats to step outside of jazz and do other things. You may have seen Branford in the movies School Daze and MO Betta Blues.

Thanks so much for this review ☺. Love this beautiful song ♥, inspired by Quentin Crisp, a gay man who suffered because of prejudice. Of course the prejudice was abhorrent, but the song is beautiful.
