땡 ddaeng - Is from the freeze-unfreeze game eoreum ddaeng- as the equivalent of freeze tag, the player can unfreeze other players while saying Ddaeng. Other meanings of 땡 ddaeng: wrong, symbolizes end of game, onomatopoeia of the bell sound. Also fun fact : At the end of the video- If interested - the newspaper says that the Mob boss is still missing and the reason the Maknae picked up the revolver is because he is the mob Boss 😬 Thank you for reacting! Double Knot is also pretty epic and both Domino and Double Knot has English Versions (but just not the same)

Hey it’s complimentary to compare them to BTS ‘cause they look up to BTS. It’s all good. I am an Army & a Stay so I am here for all of it. BTW I’ve only been to a Stray Kids concert though and it was all I ever dreamed of and will do it again!

Ddaeng is not reference to Bts, It's just a korean word. Also it's not very common in kpop songs to refer to other kpop grps

Dude, Ddaeng means Freeze. The title of the song. Nothing to do with the BTS song, except they both have the same title.

Ddang does not mean "Freeze". Sorry. 'Eoreum' means freeze/ice and Ddang is the word you say to unfreeze in the Korean version of Freeze Tag. Ddang has many other meanings but not freeze. (Listen to the song with subtitles and when they say Eoreum the subtitles say Freeze. You can also look it up.)

I feel the same way! Nothing irritates me more then everything KPOP being referenced back to BTS. KPOP has been around longer then BTS. And in all honesty BTS isn't even that good. Yap, I said it. There songs are good, but there are a lot of better singers, rappers and dancers in KPOP from 1st gen to present 4th gen. I'm so glad there are others out there that think the same way.

It's like trying to connect two different American artists because they both used the same English word. Sounds pretty ridiculous, don't you think?

@@sour.lemonny8344 if you only knew a handful of English words all thanks to that artist, then no. it's not ridiculous when you see that same exact word repeated by a newer group in the same genre. does it have anything to do with bts? absolutely not. but the mind likes to recognize familiarity and drawing connections with things you're learning about. that's the only connection to the language they could have possibly had about the word on the limited info they know.

I didn't know that BTS came up with a word for the Korean language. (sarcasm). So in order not to think that Stray Kids or other groups refer to BTS, you need to expand your horizons in boy groups, then you will be surprised that there are much more talented idols who dance, sing, write lyrics and are composers than BTS. P.s. Just for future reference, don't look for BTS references in Stray Kids (or other groups) they are completely different groups.

BTS was not there before SHINEE, EXO, or Super Jr. They are good but Stray Kids are pretty unique to Kpop they cater to all genres of music everywhere all around the world describes them perfectly. Love your reactions.

skz are using that word as its meaning of "freeze" in the korean freeze tag game bts' used ddaeng in 7 different ways (including this way) maybe they took some inspiration? but ultimately i dont think the songs have much correlation.

Ddaeng is common word for Korean, so everyone use this word on daily also for lyrics. So nothing related or inspiration with other song or band, they just use the same word like word love.

In the context of the song it means “unfreeze” when you’re playing tag in Korea. So when you get tagged you “freeze” and when someone untags you they say “ddaeng” meaning “unfreeze”. It’s also being used simultaneously as an onomatopoeia though for the gun sound.
