Park Jimin from BTS is Etheral ! Definitely check out BTS they are legends as well! There isn’t any type of genre they don’t do! They consist of three main rappers and four are their vocal line but they can all rap and sing. Dance too is off the chain! Choreography is intricate and they kill it! Thanks for your reaction! Both Taeyang and Jimin did soo good on this Collab. I really don't know a lot about Taeyang or Big Bang (the group that Taeyang is apart of) but one of my favorite Big Bang songs is "Fantastic Baby" and another good song from Taeyang that I personally like is "Wedding Dress". Taeyang has such a good voice. Jimim from BTS I know a lot more about. But one of my favorite Jimin solo songs is "Promise". I love the acoustic feel to the song. BTS a favorite song I love is "Love Myself Answer" and many more. Great reaction and I just watched your Dynamite reaction just before this one.

Yes Taeyang went beast mode! Glad Teddy suggested Jimin and chose the song for this collab.. Happier that as usual Taeyang was super generous with the time he gave to his collaborator.. That's why all his duets/ features are amazing! Nice to get to hear from Park Jimin, he's actually a pearl. I can see he's trained well on top of having natural gifts, just like Taeyang.. The pairing few thought of, but everyone needs. Bringing the party back!

Taeyang (he is 34) is from BigBang (2nd generation in KPOP), he was the first singer. He admired Michael Jackson growing up and Jimin (he is 27) of BTS admired Taeyang!!! BTS is 3rd generation KPOP. KPOP goes by 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen. I absolutely love this colab and song!!! They both rocked it equally! It almost has a 70's sound...like K.C. and The Sunshine Band. Looooove it!!!

Welcome to the world of kpop. We are now at the 4th generation . Taeyang debut in 2006 with group BigBang in the 2 gen . The group found masive succes ( they won an MTV Europe award in 2011 in front of Britney Spears) and had a huge influence on the entire industry . They have been in hiatus for 6 years do to military enlistment of members and are now making a comeback to the music scene . All members are also succesful solo artists. They are the idols of idols including BTS members .Jimin is one of the younger members of BTS. They are 3 gen idols and found huge success especialy during BigBang hiatus . He has a couple of solo songs but he should probably really debut his solo career in 2023. Both artist plan to release solo albums this year .

Taeyang is a veteran idol, he classified as a musician from a legend group BIGBANG, he's the main dancer and the main vocalist of the group. he really is the true king, major in rnb genre, and references MJ (michael jackson) so much, you can hear from his voice tchnically, and the gimmick from his dance. He was the first and only artist who, contrary to the usual. began to perform rnb in k-pop BIGBANG are an ICON in our music industry. A LEGEND. They have been dubbed as the KINGS OF KPOP for a very long time. (Nowadays, our local media call them the Emperors of Kpop). Take note, they aren't called KINGS because of popularity alone. Think of a KING that leads, make changes and help their kingdom prosper. That's what BIGBANG did for the idol industry. Bigbang, the OG kings of kpop who changed the whole of kpop industry to what it is now (for example Bigbang and their leader GD (G- Dragon) were the first ones to write and produce their own music so our boys BTS and others can write and produce their own music). They were HUGE in South Korea and internationally before streaming, social media and KZbin. Taeyang debuted with BB in 2006 so he's been in the industry for a long time and he and BigBang have so many good songs. Bigbang was and is a huge influence for younger idols, they are the blueprint.

Just listened to Dynamite and left some info and comments. Believe it or not, the Live version of Vibe is even better! Just loved it, it's has a more jazzy feel to it, and their vocals stand out even more so worth looking at that as well! You will find in k-Pop different versions of their tracks, so look out for them as they are worth looking at, In fact especially in the case of BTS (as I'm Army), their live performances are even better than the recorded versions. Jimin is in fact about to bring out his first album (they have solo music as well as group music in BTS, not sure of other groups) this Feb which is highly anticipated. This is his own music, but as part of BTS he has solos songs, so Army's are really looking forward to it. The others are J-Hope or Hobi (Jack in the Box - he headlined Lollapalooza this past summer) and RM or Kim Namjoon (Indigo, just released) who have already released their solos. As military service is mandatory in S. Korea the oldest Jin has already entered this Dec so they are focused on solos and will get back together as a group in 2025. In the meantime there is a lot to discover!

But first a quick primer on K-pop: K-pop is not a genre but an umbrella term for popular Korean music. It includes all the genres found in our country, plus one that's kind of unique to Asia called "idol music". Think of "boy" or "girl" groups where every single member is insanely talented and gorgeous enough to be a solo megastar. on their own. Some idol groups are formed and controlled by their labels. But plenty of them write and even produce their music, play their own instruments, contribute to their choreography. The genre emerged in 1992 and is divided into generations. First Gen were the founders who didn't know they were developing what would become a global wave of Korean influence. The second Gen was a bit more self-aware, and began to hone what would become a uniquely Korean music and entertainment niche. Taeyang's old group BigBang were the unchallenged kings of this generation. They were the first group to write and produce all their own songs and feature actual rappers recruited from Seoul's underground hip-hop scene. The third Gen saw the rise of several giant global phenomena who drew fans outside of Asia. Jimin's group BTS are one of them, but they are so far above any of their 3rd gen peers, and have evolved beyond the "idol" genre. They still share many traits with idol groups, but broke countless "rules" that define the category as well. They are diverse while also unique, and also put in plenty of work writing and producing their music. The three rappers in BTS have over 100 music copyrights - EACH. The leader, RM, has 187 song credits. BTS themselves often say they are their own genre in response to reporters who struggle to put them in a category. They are the group that 4th gen groups now idolize. Taeyang was the main vocalist and main dancer in BigBang. Men in South Korea all must serve 18 months in the military. When he got out he got married and had a baby. This song is his first solo release in six years. An album is coming soon. His group was the one 3rd gen groups idolized. Jimin and other BTS members looked up especially to Taeyang for his talent and his personal integrity. He is known for his clear tenor vocals and heartbreaking love ballads, contrasted by an MJ-inspired, aggressive choreography style. He's also deathly allergic to shirts 🤣 Jimin is one of the main dancers and main vocalists in his group. He's known for delicate yet powerful high notes and fluid choreography influenced by contemporary dance. That's him doing the incredible ad-libs at the end of this song. Like Taeyang, he conveys graceful beauty vocally and relentless sex appeal in his movement at the same time. When these two legends from different generations came together for a song, the reaction is hard to describe. It's considered the collaboration to end all collaborations. FYI Jimin will soon be entering the military to complete his own service, but a solo album will be released very soon, before he goes in.

Stop fighting you all. BigBang was one of the top groups in the 2nd generation of kpop and currently BTS is one of the top groups of the 3rd generation kpop. There were the 1st generation groups that are more likely foundation of kpop back in 80s or even earlier.

Want to see some crazy choreography and amazing live performance try Run BTS from BTS' Busan Concert. It was the first time they sang the song live and debuted the choreography for it. Jimin is an excellent dancer and did an awesome job with one of his favorite singers. This song definitely is a Vibe!

Finding this a bit late but I have to say it's fun seeing someone who had exactly no context appreciate this song 😀 I'm sure you know by now but Taeyang is a legend in their field, Jimin idolized him coming up, and now Jimin is also legendary and Taeyang is making a comeback. There's a fabulous stripped-back live I like even better, and quite a bit of behind the scenes content, plus Taeyang did an interview where he talked a lot about working with Jimin. They very clearly respected the hell out of each other and enjoyed working together. All of that takes the song from a catchy vibe to something pretty magical, for me. 😁 One of my favorite moments is when they're trying to out-compliment each other while rehearsing, Jimin bragging that he has Taeyang's voice in his in-ear and his eardrums are melting from it, Taeyang saying essentially the same thing about Jimin's voice. It's very sweet.
