Well, Taras said in his interviews that beatboxing is very good for developing breathing. And yes, he is from Russia as like the other members of Ya Na Ha. Improver, Helium, Vahtang. If you like this style of beatboxing, this is the place to go. They have both solo and group projects. I'm sure you'll love it.

Hey Schuyler at 413 you ask if they book beatboxer at events, they do but it is widely internationally associated but I'm from the states and I dont see beatboxing as even a minor circuit in the usa. They also do battles, showcases, tag team/tag loop and loopstation. Swissbeatbox has it on their channel

I think it's a mix of figuring out how to make sounds that are already in music, finding sounds that sound like other things, learning from your friends, and lots of practice. I know that Taras figured out his signature muffled vocal texture by copying EDM music, and just learning like, 'oh, I can just sing like I'm being put through a filter, sick.'
