Well, l grew up listening to the Beatles. It's fun watching you experience it for the first time. Another great one is I FEEL FINE. Recently playing it and thinking how much l like it, and I'm not sick of it yet. There are some Beatles songs l am sick of, but l SHOULD OF KNOWN BETTER and I FEEL FINE are two l still love. I wonder whether Paul McCartney came across your video. He's still around. I think he'd fine it kinda interesting.

The Beatles are the greatest ever. They basically invented pop music and then went onto invent the concept album (Sgt. Pepper's) and were pioneers in songwriting and use of technology; the use of loops, etc, etc. They released 13 official albums between 1963 to 1970. They had 4 songs inside the top 10 charts *at the same time*. No one will ever accomplish what they did ever again.
@MsAppassionata

They had the top 5 songs in the top 10 at the same time (1 through 5 on the charts). 1. Can’t Buy Me Love 2. Twist And Shout 3. She Loves You 4. I Want To Hold Your Hand 5. Please Please Me Plus, they had 7 more songs in the top 100. They also had 2 more songs enter the top 100 the following week (There’s A Place, and Love Me Do). That means that they had 14 songs in the top 100. I don’t believe that will ever be equaled again EVER.

I've loved The Beatles since 1963, but I'm sorry, it's ridiculous to say "they basically invented pop music" The Beatles would have said such a thing was ridiculous. The Beatles wouldn't have existed without seventy five years of theater music before them, back to Gilbert and Sullivan in England, and about sixty years in the United States. Names: Irving Berlin Jerome Kern Cole Porter Vincent Youmans Richard Rodgers George Gershwin Kurt Weill Harold Arlen Harry Warren Hoagy Carmichael Frank Loesser Johnny Mercer James McHugh and dozens of others. Add to that several hundred years of English folk songs, some classical influences, many other things. What The Beatles did invent was a way to use rock and roll, which by the time they came to America, was thought to be dead, in all sorts of new ways. Yes, they were remarkable originals, a movement unto themselves in popular music - in music, period - and I put them in The Pantheon. But they didn't "basically invent" popular music.

I was one of the 73,000,000 Americans (40% of the population at the time) who excitedly watched The Beatles when they first performed on a popular TV show in early 1964. They went on to have a massive influence on rock music , inspired many great bands, and set many cultural trends all over the world. Song construction was very simple at that time, but drastically changed in the late 1960's. If you are interested in exploring Beatles music then I would highly recommend some of their live performances. Start with their rooftop concert with the song Don't Let Me Down. it was one of the last concerts they did before splitting up. I enjoyed your reaction.

absolutely. Too many people cherry pick the later Beatles songs that sound like the proverbial classic rock radio play list, and matched their limited musical preferences in their little safe musical cocoons, instead of learning about the evolution of pop and rock music. Even going back further to the beginning of the 20th century and ragtime music, which was considered outrageous at the time, starting in the 1890's. it's all connected and evolved.

I was 9-years-old when The Beatles first appeared on The Ed Sullivan show, February 9, 1964 -- their first national exposure in the US, exactly 60 years ago this month. On that date, Ringo Starr & John Lennon were 23, Paul McCartney, 21, & George Harrison, 20 (2 weeks shy of 21) - that's how VERY young they really were!!! I LOVED them immediately, feelings that never waned, & they have been the most prominent & beloved band on the soundtrack of my life ever since. Facts everyone should know -- John was murdered in NYC on Dec 8, 1980, 10 years after The Beatles broke up. He was 40 years old. George died of cancer on Nov 29, 2001, age 58. Ringo (now 83) & Paul (81) are alive & well & still delighting audiences with their wonderful music!!!!! The history of The Beatles, & how their empire was built, & why they are still so very popular, is a story every music fan should know!! Everyone in every generation should listen to their extensive & incredibly entertaining catalogue & learn their stories, & find out how 4 young lads from Liverpool, England changed the world!!! There are innumerable reasons & recordings (from 1962-1970) that show why The Beatles are the GOATs among all the other GOATS in the world, & you should do yourself a favor and listen to it all. I know you'll enjoy the ride!! Each band member also had a very successful post-Beatles career, & there is SO MUCH great music in that assortment as well!!! And I can promise you this -- Just about EVERY song in The Beatles iconic catalogue is worth listening to.

The song was great, but the reaction was…meh. But that’s not unique to this couple. Reaction videos of general offer vapid content that does nothing but make you feel good that someone else likes the song you like. It’s not clear that they even like it. I mean, have you ever heard a negative comment about any song on any reaction video? They’re just sucking up to the audience. There are a few reactors out there who will actually increase your understanding or appreciation of a song. This is not one of them.

It's almost impossible to pick just one favorite song by The Beatles. There are just so many that are wonderful. The Beatles walked down the hall of music knocking down doors on either side that opened up new fields for other bands to go in to explore. They made pop music into an art form that showed everyone that anything was possible. They explored all kinds of genres and combinations of genres and pushed the boundaries of the recording studio. As Alice Cooper said, "Everybody was influenced by somebody, but I think everybody was influenced by The Beatles." One of the many amazing things about The Beatles is how quickly they evolved in such a short time. As Elvis Costello said, "Every record was a shock when it came out. Every single was an event.” Or, as Ozzy Osbourne called them, “The Greatest Band To Ever Walk The Earth!”

The Beatles can to the US in February 1964 for their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. In November 1963 President John Kennedy had been assassinated in Dallas. The country was in shock and had gone through a subdued holiday season because of it. In a way, the Beatles helped “snap us out of it”. Okay here are some good suggestions. The song hey Jude performed live on the Dick cavett show where the whole crowd joins in the ending part. The song help from the album help where they are playing with their guitars while they're on a bicycle built for four with Ringo in the back twirling an umbrella. Anything with a live performance so you can watch them work the microphones and see how professional they are. Songs from the other spectrum the end of their beetle years such as I want you she's so heavy. Another song Helter skelter is notable for its introduction of hard rock to the world. You will soon see that everything the Beatles recorded was worth listening to.

The Beatles grew and changed a lot over the years. This was an early song of theirs and they have a lot of different sounds with different lead singers. This was John Lennon. I'd recommend one from Paul McCartney - Let it Be or one from George Harrison - Here Comes The Sun next.

"I should have known better" is off the album "Hard Days Night" which was the soundtrack to a movie called "Hard Days Night" which gives a close view of what the Beatles went through in the height of Beatlemania! Highly recommend you watch it so you see how crazy this global phenomenon was back then! I find it difficult to recommend a Beatles song for you to listen to because their albums are just filled with great songs let alone which one is my favourite! Maybe I can suggest the following I saw her standing there - the first song on their first album Get Back - the last song on their last album The Fool on the Hill - right in the middle of their transformation from the Magical Mystery Tour album

As others have said, The Beatles were incredibly versatile. Trippy (Tomorrow Never Knows, Strawberry Fields, etc), poppy (She Loves You), melodic (In My Life, Yesterday), great harmonies (If I Fell + about 50% iof their output), blues, kids songs, heartfelt acoustics, piano ballads, scary shit (Blue Jay Way). Absolute genius band. The gift that keeps on giving.

I get a little panicked when people say they are listening to the Beatles for the FIRST TIME EVER. As in, what the hell song will they CHOOSE, from so many GREAT ones--each so unique? The first tune is crucial, but even more important is to listen to dozens of songs over the span of the band's career to see how astoundingly they evolved, year by year, album to album. I can't even image hearing The Beatles for *the first time*. The concept makes me laugh. Since childhood, I've probably listened to their music almost every day for the last fifty years. They are woven into the fabric of my life, like family. Welcome down the rabbit hole, kids!!!

Thank you guys for reacting to The Beatles. Any song you pick by The Beatles is great, but for something similar to this one, try, If I Fell, also from John, or And I Love Her, from Paul. All early love songs. Their music changed over the eight short years they recorded together, but the early albums are full of beautiful love songs that they themselves wrote. Thanks again.

The Beatles are considered one of the greatest musical groups of all times. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Also all four members of the Beatles have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as individuals as well.

The Beatles made so many greate songs ant though their time as a band was surprisingly short they matured in their songwriting . They were so young - I think the time as a band ended when they were about 25 years old. If you look at treir songbook I am sure you will recognise many titles !

I saw the Beatles in concert live in August of 1965 in Portland Oregon. It was an amazing to not only hear them in person, but to hear the ear-piercing screams from all all the girls that were there. It was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. They sounded just as good live as they were on their recordings.

My Beatles suggestion would be literally anything by The Beatles. Most folks define two specific eras,, the earlier more poppy stuff and the later more psychedelic period, beginning with Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. However, I think there's really three distinct periods, one in the middle, coincidentally spanning 3 albums all released in a 12 month period, that was more of a transition (Help, Rubber Soul, and Revolver). Depending on your personal taste, I'd start with probably Help, but I always preferred the "later" Beatles. I Should Have Known Better is firmly in the "early" Beatles era. But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything, there's a reason they're still most peoples benchmark of success, and it's not all just hype.

This is so early for them but even then it was so compelling, they had already put in a ton of time playing live in small venues that were really hardcore. Most notably the cavern in Liverpool which is where they were from, a shipping town and very blue collar, but also in Hamburg Germany for a while. And then in 1964 when they were so young, they exploded globally and they made a trip to the United States to play on The Ed Sullivan Show in New York and that is all she wrote. That is literally what the British Invasion in music refers to in terms of its beginning.

They were only together for 7 years commercially yet changed the world in that short time. One of my favourites is Dear Prudence. Or for a straight rocker try I saw her standing there. Help is cry from John Lennon that I feel resonates with many people during their youth about trying to find your way in life and love. And Yesterday is Paul McCartney's best work. The band grew and evolved with every album and they are all different yet distinctly the Beatles. Once you start down this road of albums you won't be able to stop until you've heard them all. If you're like me, you will feel sadness that there weren't more. I hope you enjoy them
